Would it be an issue to move ABA over to this page? It feels weird for her to be isolated on the "Others" page, even if Isuka technically belongs there.

I've been hearing people saying that the ending where Bridget identifies as a trans girl is supposed to be the "bad" ending of her storyline, where she identifies as a girl because she's too "weak" to be a man; and that in the "good" ending Bridget still identifies as a boy who was raised as a girl.

If that's the case — and I'm hoping it's not since it just reenforces negative stereotypes — this isn't the positive trans representation people are taking it as, and it raises the question of what should be done regarding Bridget's pronouns.

I haven't seen any evidence that the game actually reinforces that.

If you're hearing it from blatant transphobes, I wouldn't give it much thought

For the sake of argument, here's all of the different dialogue in Bridget's Arcade mode.

The first problem with this idea that it is considered to be a "bad ending". While the arcade mode's dialogue does change if you lose a round or not, saying that the "heart lose" ending is the "bad ending" sounds elitism to me. I would say that "heart lose" ending is the "normal end" and the ending you get for beating Boss Mode Narokiyuki/Ky is the "Golden Ending".

Second, the so-called "good ending" has Bridget exclusive talk with Ky; the guy who has become a half-Gear due to eye transplant. In spite of his transformation, he still wants to stay true to his ideals, even if he were to become something he isn't. Ky being the final boss feels like a metaphor for Bridget's gender dilemma, and the ultimate lesson is "Try to Be Yourself, even if you aren't who you 'want to be'". It definitely isn't as direct of saying "Bridget is trans" as the normal ending, but is more subtle in saying that "Regardless of if Bridget identifies as a man or woman, Bridget is Bridget".

Third, the in-game profile uses feminine pronouns with Bridget when talking about her likes.

I was reading an article covering Bridget's gender and came across a post mentioning that in the Japanese dialogue Bridget identifies as "otoko-no-ko" — essentially continuing the Wholesome Crossdresser angle while calling it gender non-conforming — rather than trans.

I have no clue if this is actually the case or not, but I guess we'll find out for certain in the next game, whenever that is.

^ Oh... well, that's something of a relief.

That's an awfully intricate type up to say a character's not trans

Edit: Oh wow, I missed the part where you said trap. Yeah no, you're full of shit

Japanese Pronouns are not as strict as English pronouns are. IIRC, Faust uses feminine pronouns to refer to himself in Japanese because of course he would.

This entire post sounds like copypasta.
