Pinball Protagonist: Unfortunately, the entire group falls into this group in tri. Hikari notices that the Chosen Children fail to notice a threat until it's happening right in front of them and Taichí even complains that, with all the schemes enacted by Homeostasis and Yggdrasil, he doesn't know who the real enemy is anymore.

I haven't seen tri, but what this describes does not necessarily sound like an example of the trope.

Evidently, according to this video, anyway, an interview with one of the directors, Hosoda Mamoru, states that there was some Incest Subtext between Tai and Kari in the original Japanese version of Episode 21.

Turns out that was fake, and is officially debunked. It's more of a Relationship Writing Fumble than anything.
