Removed Re: Wolverine:
- [Wolverine's "I'm the best there is at what I do."] (Despite evidence to the contrary.)
- Well, no, he is the best there is at what he does. It's just that he doesn't tell people what he does.
- It's never outright stated, but it is implied that "what he does" is kill people. Which, if you think about the primary reason most other hero teams keep him around (i.e. he's willing to cross the line and take a life when the others aren't), it puts his creed in a new light. Rather than a boast of ability, it's more of a somber statement; by his own admission, the only thing he's really good at is being a cold-blooded killer.
- "And now I'm better at whatever it is Wolverine does!"
- Perhaps what he does is get subjected to The Worf Effect. He's certainly very good at that.
- "You're wrong, lil' darlin'. There's something I can do real good. The real thing I do best. I don't give up. Ever."
- Well, no, he is the best there is at what he does. It's just that he doesn't tell people what he does.
i don't recall that second Orange Lantern oath or either White Lantern oaths ever being official. Can anyone provide a source?
