Any particular reason some lines are commented with 2 % signs?

Is it okay to open a new folder for Meika Hime and Meika Mikoto?

(Hit the wrong button before the post was finished; sorry for the first version of the post!)

I have two big suggestions for these pages.

1: Currently (September 2019) there are a whopping 56 folders on the main page. Out of these 56, 24 have 5 or less entries, and 4 of them only have ONE entry each (Tonio, Kokone, Anri Rune, and Tohoku Zunko). Perhaps it would be better to merge some of the folders together and use !titles per vocaloid?

2: The Zero-G developed Vocaloids have roughly 70 entries combined (despite Tonio only having one entry). Should we move them to a separate page?

The problem I see with requiring explanations with links on this page is, you can only reword "this song sounds good" so many different times before it's just pointless clutter.

"This song sounds good" is equally zero-context. What sounds good about it? Is it the vocal performance? The instrumentation? How it makes you feel? There are plenty of examples in the Awesome Music namespace that explain what makes a song or instrumental awesome.

No page is exempt from the Zero-Context Example policy.

But generally speaking, those are used in standalone media. Most Awesome Music video game pages, for example, have descriptions that basically amount to, "This song plays here in the game." For music not used in a game, there just isn't much you can do about that.

And "This song plays here" is also zero-context. The point of Awesome Music pages is to convey why the tracks are awesome. Identifying when it plays doesn't explain why it's awesome; what is it about the track that makes it so awesome in that moment? And there is a lot you can say about music not used in a game. It's not the massive chore you're making it out to be.

Once again, no page is exempt from the Zero-Context Example policy.

Hmm

IA English technically doesn't belong on this page because she isn't a vocaloid. Should we leave it or...?

I'm going to suggest a new subpage for IA, and possibly Yukari?

And Gakupo. Him and Yukari both get more uploads than Meiko, and IA is fourth for uploads.

Should we change the way we organize this page? I mean, to classify the vocaloids according to release date or alphabetical order? Because, for example, Tohoku Zunko was released before ones like Rana and V Flower, but there wasn't any song of her in here, and there are still vocaloids not here, like Zola Project.

I'd stick to alphabetic.

Well, the page is more or less organized by release date, so it would be less work to do organize through it, and I guess it fits better the source material. On the other hand, the character page is organized in alphabetical order, and it needs to consider the TV Tropes style.

So, I'll start to reorganize, by release date.

So, I organized in release date and added empty folders for vocaloids without songs listed in order to avoid any error, and also listed the ones that have their own pages in the main page, in order to fit the release date. Feel free to modify anything you think it's unreasonable.

Per the last sentence, there's no reason to create an empty folder, and especially no reason to make it visible. Wait until there's content to put in it. And the subpages go together in an index at the top of the page, not scattered up and down the page.

Page needs splitting, it's almost at 500,000 characters long.

(Copy/pasting post to "Big page lock" thread at Special Efforts.)

Having finally completed my sweep of uses of "this troper" and "why isn't song X on this page yet!?" on the Awesome Music subpages, as well as most extraneous code in Youtube links, I must admit this entry on the "400,000+ characters" list leapt out at me. One thing I do notice about the page - and this won't save 50,000 characters, but I'll mention it anyway to clear up a question I've had for a while - is that almost every song title on the page is rendered in italics, whereas the convention I've read elsewhere is that album titles are italicised (eg, Who's Next) and song titles are put in quotes (eg, "Won't Get Fooled Again"). Although even if it did save 50,000 characters (which, again, it won't, there aren't 25,000 titles on the page), it would only be a temporary fix.

That aside, the page pretty much can't be trimmed down without being split - most of the examples are already borderline Zero Context Examples along the lines of "Her cover of (Youtube link)", and I checked that the Youtube links have been shorn of all extraneous code (if that even contributes to the character count). Even removing what cruft may still linger either won't save 50,000 characters or will only be a temporary fix.

The obvious thing might be to split it by performer... except there are forty-one subfolders (36 for individuals, four for other categories, and one for unsorted examples), and some only have one example in them. Perhaps there are ways to group multiple subfolders on subpages, but I don't know enough about the genre to know how that might be done (are some of the performers from the same creators, for example?). Alternatively, perhaps only the largest folders can be moved over to individual subpages - seems to have worked for a number of other oversized pages so far (AwesomeBosses.Video Games - or Awesome.VideoGameBosses as it once was - leaps to mind) - and others can be moved to new subpages as their folders grow.

I just saw that someone deleted several examples that stated only the titles of the songs linked to. The edit reason said that if people added a song to the list, they should explain why they like the song in question so much. Is it really necessary to do so? Is there an official policy on that? And if there is not, would it be okay to just add the examples back to the page?

Suggestion: The other tab is starting to get a little on the messy side of things. I'm not sure if anyone else is up for putting in some work, but why not make another tab for Utaite songs [Such as Glutamine, Piko, Clear, etc.]?

Also, Why are MOTHY's works still separated on the series tab? By now Word of God has confirmed that Story of Evil, the Evillous chronicles, and the 7 deadly sins are all connected, so having them split by a few paragraphs seems a bit silly.

There is a ton of 'This video isn't here because this account was closed' links in the Awesome Music page. Can someone try to fix those please?

Any specific examples? I'll try to go through them all, but names would help a lot.

The problem is that there are too many to count XD. It seems to be getting a lot better, but I've noticed a few examples that I'm going to fix myself. Just say something though if one of em goes down again.
