* Hi there. If the author of this series is reading this, I have something to say about one of the fictional documents, \'\'Beliefs That Work\'\'.

** According to the information provided, \\\'\\\'\\\"humans tend to choose one set of beliefs over another because one set appears to \\\"work\\\" better than the other set. He then shows that, for people interested in advanced technology, science works better than any rival belief system.\\\"\\\'\\\'
** See, the thing is that I have come to the conclusion that this is just as untrue as the common assumption that humans choose one set of beliefs over another because they think it\\\'s \\\"the correct one\\\".
** If you watch the actions of people throughout their lives, it should become apparent that for all major Religious viewpoints except Atheism and Agnosticism, people choose their belief because they are pressured into it by the group dynamic. Which admittedly in turn provides more traction of the neurovirus concept, discredits Religion and shows humanity is mostly stupid, but that is beside the point.
** In reality, only Atheism and Agnosticism are chosen because the person who believes it \\\"thought it worked\\\". The problem with this is that Atheism tends to place science as an infallible system, provided that something is proven first. However, old ideas are commonly proven wrong by new ones replacing them, which means that the end result is an \\\"innocent until proven guilty\\\" towards potentially incorrect ideas. As for Agnosticism, believing nothing because you don\\\'t know and not trying to find out can be very dangerous if the right people take advantage of you in the right ways, or if an unknown phenomenon could destroy life as we know it at any time and you weren\\\'t taking the time to look into it.
*** Now I bet you\\\'re wondering which belief system I\\\'m going to try to shill now that I\\\'ve bashed so many. Well, I\\\'m not. Rather, I simply thought this would be of interest to you, since the pattern of social pressure clearly contradicts a major point that MAC brings up. Obviously he will just brush it off if he\\\'s actually incorrect for once, but in the meantime one of his books has been rendered moot. I hope this was interesting and/or useful to you.
