Davey Jones: You have a debt to pay. After the Buffy/Spike ship was sunk in \'\'Something Blue\'\', you promised me your soul if I were to raise it from the depths. That was thirteen years ago. That was our agreement.
Jack Sparrow: Technically, they were only a ship for two years, then the show was viciously cancelled.

Um...It\'s pretty simple to identify what North Point is supposed to be; looking at the [=AC4=] map you have Japan located to the East of a Russia-style entity; in the beginning, there \'\'is\'\' no state of Usea, with the whole thing having been annexed. It\'s unclear how the pre-war borders actually worked, given that we\'re told Comberth Harbour is home to the Aegir fleet and presumably they didn\'t throw up such a large facility overnight. The \

Um...It\\\'s pretty simple to identify what North Point is supposed to be; looking at the [=AC4=] map you have Japan located to the East of a Russia-style entity; in the beginning, there \\\'\\\'is\\\'\\\' no state of Usea, with the whole thing having been annexed. It\\\'s unclear how the pre-war borders actually worked, given that we\\\'re told Comberth Harbour is home to the Aegir fleet and presumably they didn\\\'t throw up such a large facility overnight. The \\\"Modern\\\" border of Usea is post-war, and includes Stonehenge which IIRC was \\\'\\\'always\\\'\\\' part of Erusea and Istas Fortress which presumably was too. Given we\\\'re told San Sal wasn\\\'t, though, Erusea must have had a bloody strange border.

Looking at the map and where the invasion takes place, there are some truly UnfortunateImplications regarding the idea of Japan \\\"liberating\\\" an area that\\\'s technically \\\'\\\'China\\\'\\\'. [=AC4=] is basically the Japanese nationalist fantasy of being pivotal in defeating the evil Soviet Union, coupled with that nasty historical revisionism where they heroically liberate China. The huge crater is symbolic, I\\\'m not saying Hiroshima literally left a huge crater, but it did leave a huge mark on the nation, as it were.

With all the others, you can clearly tell just from how they act what they\\\'re supposed to be; Belka is an industrial powerhouse where power was taken by nationalists and which went on to declare a great war against the world using sophisticated weapons and a powerful air force, waging a devastating but ultimately futile war. That\\\'s what makes it an obvious alternate-Germany, the names just seal the deal even more. You wouldn\\\'t say it was Germany if it \\\'\\\'only\\\'\\\' had the names, it\\\'s how it acts that matters here. You could equally, by the standards you\\\'re using, claim Belka \\\'\\\'isn\\\'t\\\'\\\' Germany because German nationalists never tried to make America and Russia fight each other via false-flag operations. Others like the America-states are at the head of heroic coalitions that oppose Soviet-style states, and you can usually tell as much by their equipment, tactics and behaviour what nation they\\\'re supposed to be as by their names and accents.

It\\\'s rather hard to show the actions of a neutral country in a series about warfare, which is why North Point politics are as unimportant in the AC-verse as Japan\\\'s would be in a discussion of the Cold War; it\\\'d be more out of character if North Point \\\'\\\'did\\\'\\\' become important.
