However, Kenpachi implies that he had to become more powerful than he was at the moment Loyd copied him. The manga has clearly established for us that Kenpachi can only do that sort of thing if he's brought to the point of death. Which isn't the definition of an easy fight, even for Kenpachi (they do tend to be his definition of an enjoyable fight, however, and he did indicate IIRC that he enjoyed the Loyd fight).
