I think some of the examples are more a case of \"AndYouWereThere\", the tricky part is that both tropes are very similar. The main difference as I understand it at least, is that in this one each installment (whether movie or episode) is an entire new universe even with the same cast, whilst in AndYouWereThere the characters are playing different roles in a fantasy or dream, which includes the characters imagining a story been told. If no one opposes I think is a good idea to make a clean-up and pass some of the examples to the latter.

If it can be troped without [=ZCEs=], then yes. Perhaps add the alternate sprites as notes, or simply link them in the tropes, but we still need to add context. There are still a lot of [=ZCEs=] on the Characters page, we need no more of those.
