openThis one game I used to play Videogame
It was a kids game and I think it started with some bird or something flying on top of this boys chimney and then the game went inside of the house where the boy was in his bed sleeping. I think the game was about this boy that was invited to a birthday party but he woke up sick and couldn’t go and I remember the beginning of the game was where you would wake up and go to the bathroom and try to find medicine for him because he was sick or something. There was also a closet that had like a doll that was Easter egg to another game. I also think that he had some sort of animal friend or something (I think it was the bird in the beginning of the game) I remember he really wanted to go to the birthday party so I think he decided to go anyway and I remember there was something to do with the boy hearing a wolf or something like that following him around and he was trying to catch the wolf or find out what was following him but i think the wolf ended up being good or something. And I remember that there was a part of the game where the boy went to the dentist or something. The characters were also animals sort of like tumble leaf from what I remember? I think the style of the game also kind of looks like the tumble leaf style. But I really don’t think it was specifically a tumble leaf game. That’s all I remember from this game

In the tropes Bungled Suicide and Happily Failed Suicide, there's a mention on the Western Animation folders that there's an 80's Eastern-European short about "a despondent man trying to kill himself, but when he's faced by robbers, he gives away all of his posession, clothes included, and ends up happy and appreciating life after being spared". I can't find anything about this short on the web, and a twitter account stated that this short is probably non-existant. Anybody knows what the short is called?

opena weird, partially animated TV ad
I'm looking for a TV ad which aired, as far as I can tell, at some point between 2000 and 2015 in Central-Eastern Europe. Probably for a car, because that makes the most sense given what I remember of it.
Now, what I remember:
It was partially animated. There was a live actor, and IIRC a real car, but there was also a lot of animation. I can't tell if it was posed on top of live-action image, or the man and the car were the only live-action elements. There might have also been elements which were special effects rather than animation.
Now, the animation. It was black-and-white, and the kind which is styled to look like doodles on paper. There were even some stick figures in it IIRC.
The thing is, the animations were stuff like monstrous tentacles. Horror imagery played for comedy. Stuff like that went on around the man and the car, but he drove like nothing was happening. At the end, the car drove beyond the horizon (or into a tunnel perhaps?), and then some stick-figure spider creature reached out and grabbed the sun.
Technically speaking, I can't say for sure if it was for a car. Could be insurance or some other money stuff. Car seems to make most sense to me.
It's hard to even come up with the right keywords to search for it, so perhaps one of you guys remembers it.
openArabic 3D Animated Film Film
it's a straight to DVD 3D animated film i watched when i was very little. from what i remember the story takes place in a fictional middle eastern-esque kingdom, and the plot is about a guy and his blond, blue-eyed, adopted brother. they get separated as kids and only reunite as adults, and for some reason the blond brother is pretending to be blind? the two of them go on this quest to find a princess i think? and i remember there was a cave that assaulted their senses as they passed through it (like one room was really loud, one room had an awful odor, etc.). i remember bits of the ending: the two brothers reach a fancy palace and stand in front of 2 doors. one leads to oblivion and the other leads to the princess. they choose a door and go through it, but it leads to a pitch black room and they think they chose the wrong path. but then the room lights up revealing the princess seating on a throne. she tells them that both doors lead to the same room, but she never revealed herself to the other people who found her because she found them boring, and the two brothers were the first people who actually impressed her. does this sound familiar to anyone?
openMiddle Eastern movie about honor killing (SOLVED) Film
I can't remember the country it was set in or what language they were speaking (not english). It's about a young man who I think had just completed his military service and comes home only to be tasked with the honor killing of his younger female cousin, who was raped. They have to go far away to do it so they don't get caught (it's technically illegal), but on the journey he decides to protect her instead of killing her. Probably came out out some time between 2000-2010, I think I remember that the title (in English) was just 1 word.
Edited by f1shst1xopenRecollections of a Dream. Videogame
Okay, I know I dreamt this one, however, I do have this strong feeling that said dream was based on a real game. All I can remember was that it was a platformer game that had a(n incomplete) Easter Egg were the player would have to go to random locations and do crazy stuff to manage to get a password to access a secret location, this Easter Egg might have been popular or might not.
Edited by megagutsmanopenWhere is this clip from? (SOLVED) Western Animation
So, a video I was watching used a clip that I would like to know the source of. The clip is CGI animation.
It starts with a possibly-teenage girl leaning around a doorway. She is Caucasian, and has brown hair pulled back in a braid, green eyes, and glasses. Her shirt is black with a red collar.
The camera then cuts to behind her, so we can see the room she's looking into. On the wooden floor is an assortment of toys: Some kind of red robot, a pink... thingy that looks like a collection of Easter eggs, a plush-looking toy of someone in a blue suit and mask, a kinda lizard-looking action figure, a "buff barbarian" action figure, and two different action figures of people in Powered Armor (One red, one green. The green one is bigger).
The girl is saying something, but the video didn't use the audio from the clip so I have no idea what she said.
Then the camera cuts to a close-up of the red Powered Armor action figure, showing that under its transparent green visor it has a nervous expression. Also, we see that the action figure isn't purely red: it also has golden and blue sections of its armor, and its joints are black. Then we cut back to the girl, who looks around for a second before ducking back behind the wall.
The context in the video was mentioning how the toys in Toy Story would "go inanimate" when humans around, but NONE of the characters in the clip are from Toy Story. (I suspect it might be from a short film.)
Edited by sRAMrelevratopenWhat episode of Bones is this ? Live Action TV
I found this entry under Balkan Bastard for Bones
- Brennan and Booth discover that a murdered girl had come from South Central Europe, and when they track down the place where she had been staying, they discover a den filled with sex slaves who were smuggled in from Eastern Europe and the Balkan region. They soon arrest her pimp, an Albanian human trafficker.
What episode is this from. I want to edit it to specify.
openEngland not an island? Live Action TV
This was a show or TV movie that I caught a little of on British TV, in the early 1980s I think.
The premise was some kind of alternate world where England didn't exist as part of the British Isles. Instead, it was located somewhere else, as part of mainland Eastern Europe, I think. So no longer an island.
I can remember the title scenes, which showed a map of the British Isles, showing empty sea where England should have been.
I can't remember the time period this was supposed to be set in, but I'm pretty it wasn't the modern day, i.e. the early 1980s at that time. I think it was set in the 1800s or maybe the very early 1900s.
openA kpop music video with tanks and helicopters. Music
I saw a weird kpop music video on You Tube in the early 2010s.
The artist was a solo female singer with long black hair. The video was set in an Eastern European/Russian city ravaged by war where a crowd of refugees was walking past semi-destroyed buildings.
The singer wore a military uniform with a cap and black gloves, as she was singing on an airfield next to tanks and helicopters. The hardware looked Russian.
Please, help me to find it.
resolved Autobiography comic book about a little girl in former Soviet Union Print Comic
There was this comic book I once got my hands on briefly. It was an autobiography about a little girl living in one eastern block country. I think it was either Poland or Ukraine.
The front cover depicted the girl holding a plush toy while standing among soviet soldiers who were only shown from waist down - the upper halves of them were beyond the frame.
openOld Animated Easter Movie Film
When I was younger I watched a 2D animated Easter movie about I think a rabbit stuffed animal traveling out of his nursery to find a huge magical egg so he could make an Easter wish to heal the sick kid who owned him. I remember they go to a pet store where they look for eggs and the pet store animals sing about the giant egg going “It’s the humungo jumbo, I say wumbo jumbo, the humungo jumbo egg” and then the egg hatches so they can’t use it. Afterwards they find the egg in the woods and they heal the kid
openMovie about woman being left by husband in a communist country (Cold War) - SOLVED Film
This is probably a TV movie and not a movie that was released theaterically. The movie is probably from the eighties. Maybe seventies.
A couple (husband and wife) travel to an Eastern Europen country during cold war. Probably the husband is an business man or diplomat.
After some time the woman returns to the hotel (or appartment) and everything is gone. At least: her husband is gone. And nobody seems to know who she is.
What turns out to be:
Husband had a relationship with a woman from that Eastern European country. Probably she looked a bit like his wife (or they made her look like that wife a bit). Because he travelled with her back to the West. While leaving his real wife in that very Eastern European country.
Some more remarks:
- I do not know the language of the movie. But probably English. But I am not sure.
- The specific country maybe was left unclear. Or a fictional country was used.
- I do not know the specific ending of the movie.
Hope this does ring a bell with some of you. Thanks in advance. And keep up the great work at T Vtropes.org!
EDIT: Added 'SOLVED' to the topic title.
Edited by ththth10openRussian(probably?) short stop motion short about a mom and a son Film
I'm looking for this short stop motion film (which may or may not be eastern European?? not sure) about a mother and her son who lives alone in this one room apartment.
So the plot was something like this: the mother goes to the store (which has a long queue) and leaves her son alone in said apartment, unbeknownst to her while she's not there her home gets ransacked by burglars, her son hides from these burglars in the closet but the burglars find him anyway, (and then somehow the son was able to get ahold of one the burglar's gun à la looney tunes) they probably kidnapped the son too but I'm not sure about it..
The mother had long black hair and the son was a little blonde boy who probably wore something green. The backgrounds were pretty cheap looking too.
The animation style was stop motion but I can't quite remember if it was claymation or if dolls were used instead (like Coraline), or a mix of both. It also probably had "Mother" in its title too.
I wasn't able to finish this short film so these are the only details I can remember..
Edited by Troper_12345openTerrorist in America Live Action TV
It may have been a movie but I believe it was a Tv show about middle eastern terrorists living secretly in America. All I remember was they followed one of the guys home and he lived right next to an airport, come to find out he had a missile built in his roof to target planes taking off. That's all I can remember any help would be appreciated. Thanks
openOne-shot captain America comic book
I think this was in 2010, when I went to a commissary on an Army Base in Maryland and they were giving out these single-issue captain America comic books. In the book, Captain America has to go to a middle-eastern country (a real one) because some villagers accidentally summoned a monster to try to get rid of an unexploded bomb they found. I’m pretty sure it’s not one of the AAFES comics.
Edited by Loopytires55openMiddle Eastern(?) movie about woman trying to find her son?
The movie is like half flashbacks, half present day. In the flashbacks, during a violent conflict against non-Christians, a woman travels around the country trying to find her son that she hadn't seen since he was very young. In the present day, her daughter or some relative is trying to figure out what happened to her.
There's a part where she's riding the bus, but it suddenly gets shot up by terrorists. Only the MC and another woman and her young son survive, and the terrorists are about to set the bus on fire. The MC claims she's Christian because she has a rosary and tries to save the other woman's son by claiming he's her son, so the terrorists let them go, but the young son breaks out of the MC's arms and runs back to his mom on the bus while it's on fire and dies (or the terrorists shot him as soon as he reached the bus, I can't remember). The MC falls to her knees, devastated, while the terrorists leave.
In a later part, the MC gets captured by terrorists and she sings to herself while she hears other women prisoners getting raped and tortured.
The plot twist is that the MC was raped by her son, and that was how her daughter was conceived.
openPossibly eastern european clay-animation short film about a machine running amok on a field Western Animation
I vividly watching this clay animated short film on swedish television as a child in the early 90's/late 80's, but I still haven't managed to find it anywhere since.
The story, as far as I can remember it, featured a farmer-looking elderly man with a hat and beard that helplessly watched a runaway machine (presumably some farming equipment?) plow through a field towards a girl/woman screaming for help as it moved closer to her.
I don't think it had any dialogue and I assume it was some sort of soviet/eastern european production, based on the look and feel it had, perhaps czech republic or russian, but I guess it could have been some other european country as well.
Circa 1986 at a Christmas party, I saw a short stop-motion animated film that looked like it could have been made in Eastern Europe (similar in style to the work of the Polish Se-ma-for studio). It was about a little girl who had a set of watercolors, but was very messy in using them. So to teach her a lesson, each cake from the watercolor set absorbed its respective color from the world around and then they ran away. When the girl came out, she found that the entire world had turned black and white. She eventually found the watercolors dancing around a rainbow, and they restored color to the world. What was this?
