Could it be Discovery Channel's Combat Zone?
There was a show on netflix that broke down different military conflicts in detail. it talked how the conflict took place and some of the strategy employed, stuff like that. it focused in on individual battles vs whole wars
ex. the tet offensive, the SLA shootout, a few different convoy attacks in the middle east
also if I'm remembering correctly the logo was yellow with a chinook helicopter
