Close, but I mean more the practice of changing something just for the sake of it being "space-y" or futuristic. Though I guess this might be covered by that trope.

This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.
Is there a trope for when something is needlessly altered just because it's in space or in the future? Like changing the shape of forks to something that is counter-intuitive, so they're now "space forks"
