The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
An example is in the Teen Titans cartoon, when Robin joins Slade to save the lives of the other Titans. Also in the Star Wars Extended Universe when Luke becomes Sidious' apprentice. I don't mean a Face-Heel turn. They have to be the Hero and the Dragon at the same time.
I came to browse tropes and play TWEWY, and I'm all out of TWEWY data. (Seriously, my TWEWY data got deleted, I need a hug)That's one form it can take, but I was wondering if there was a trope for any time the Hero acts as the Dragon and is still the Hero, despite the fact. There's a different kind of example in The World Ends With You, but I don't know what the spoiler etiquette is here.

My name is Freezer and my anti-drug is porn. That assumes the Hero knows they're helping the Big Bad. Some forms of this trope would be when the Hero has no idea they're the Dragon.

The hero knowingly helping, because he needs the Big Bad for his own purposes, would probably fall under Enemy Mine.
I didn't write any of that. Can be Forced into Evil sometimes- the teen titans example you mentioned sounds like it would be this.
Edited by Scorpion451See, those are the specific tropes, but I was wondering if there was a broader trope that encompasses all of those.

(Seriously, my TWEWY data got deleted, I need a hug)Dragon with an Agenda would cover the "dragon has different motives than the big bad" situations, but there doesn't appear to be one singular trope where it's specifically the Hero acting as the Dragon. The examples you cited all have different motivations for doing so.
Edited by SynchronicityIf I were to TLP it, do you think it'd be a useful trope?

Is there a trope for when the Hero in some form or fashion plays the role of the Dragon, whether he is tricked into doing so or needs the Big Bad to live for some purpose?
