As your friendly neighborhood Admin Team, the gang here at TVTropes HQ is always working to improve the site. Many of those improvements begin with suggestions posted right here, on the Community Wishlist. Is there a feature you really want on TVTropes? Post it. Is there something we could be doing better? We want to know. Do you think we look fat in these pants? We were totally afraid of that. See a bug? Report it.

Important things to know:

  • We're all about that content-creation life! The top contenders for our attention are ideas that'll create more content, like the video uploading feature, or speed up launching new pages. On the flip side, design or layout tweaks won't be our top priority.
  • Help us dig through the goldmine of old wishlist items! If you have an old request gathering dust or spot one you're totally on board with, give it a bump and a like. There's a treasure trove of 6+ years' worth of ideas just waiting to be rediscovered. Items without enough love may not make the cut and will be closed.
  • Was your wishlist item locked up without an explanation? It was most likely disapproved or just too big of a task versus the benefit it would ultimately have. Time is precious, and we want to focus on updates with the biggest bang for the buck. Don't be discouraged though! We appreciate every idea and we're always listening.

Something doesn't work with one of the passages I'm supposed to follow if I want to post a thread and maybe join with Italian people (if there are any). One of the links gets me to a dead end.

Also I would like to suggest that my idea of a translation of the word trope in Italian could be "concetto" which is the direct translation of the word concept. After all, a trope is a name we give to an idea that someone realized, writing related but also including what's behind the making of both movies and videogames not to mention all other types of media.

Edit: I also wonder if there is some way of being able to send my revised translation to the team that can approve the translation or make it available for other people to join and edit or start discussions about it.

Bumping because this would be huge for accessibility in other languages.

It would also probably boost motivation and traffic for the TV Tropes Translation Project, as people could now read a decent amount of the website, and search engines will find pages with lang set to something other than "en".

On the wiki side, it would go well with languages stored per namespace, to prevent the site from randomly mixing up languages in navigation (such as the automatic namespace header).

I don't quite get what the suggestion is for, multilingual has been a thing for a long time as replied and anyone is free to contribute. The UTF 8 update only made it more convenient.

Yeah, I think I misunderstood the original suggestion. I was thinking it meant the site interface could be translated, but it doesn't mention that and the replies just refer to the wiki part.

Tbh, I did suggest that ATT, TLP and other headers + Family Friendly and Edit Banned be pulled from some secret namespace mods would be able to edit. Don't think the website is interested in localizing the interface though.
