Your mama may have had eyes in the back of her head, but our admin team just can't see everything at once. It takes a village to make sure TVTropes is running the way it should, so when it comes to spotting tech snafus, dreaming up a better digital mousetrap, or just diagnosing plain old asshattery, the quicker you let us know something's up, the quicker we can address it. See a bug? Point to it and we'll squash it. Have idea for a new feature? Post in the Tech Wishlist.
NOTE: Do not post duplicate bug queries, please check existing queries to see if your issue has already been reported and then comment on it.
This happens to me as well, so this isn't an isolated problem.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Not a bug. Ads are external code. Report misbehaving ones via the link below them or here.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
When browsing on mobile (chrome web browser, android OS) trying to close the Ad window (labeled/named "Proper" ) makes the browser jump to the top of the page, and the ad isn't even closed.
I know it is seemingly a non-intrusive ad, but considering just how small mobile screens can be, it is only expected for users to try and close them (that is why they have a close button in the first place, right?). The dact that not only it doesn't go away, but also annoyingly interrupts one's browsing by making a jump is grounds for anyone to give second thought about blocking ads. And I am guessing that is not in the best interest of an ad-based free website.
I hope you can find a fix. Cheers
