Why not put them on the YMMV page for the parent work? (ie. instead of making YMMV pages for each episode of Doctor Who, consolidate it all on the YMMV.Doctor Who page.)

That's another possibility. But since these are episode specific and people took the time to recap that entire episode, it just seems like running around the bush to move them to not only a separate page but a separate namespace as well that in no way connects to back the Recap page. Plenty of work pages have YMMV pages and that works because they're singular subjects, we just need to come up with protocol for Recap pages since they're all talking about different episodes of the same work.

Also, having individual YMMV sections/pages would allow users to explain the rationale behind applying specific tropes to specific characters or episodes without cluttering up the main series' YMMV pages.

I vote for folders. Adding a bunch of tiny YMMV pages would be pretty troublesome.

I say folders, with an option on separate pages if the folders get long (say, more than 10 or 15 lines). Some of those recent Doctor Who recaps are as large as most full-fledged work pages, and lengthy soft-splits increase user error.

132 is the rudest number.
