The best way to handle the large pages is to copy the source code into a plaintext editor and work on your changes there. Once you have the changes made, you can then just copy and paste the changed version into the edit window, overwriting the old text. This also allows you to work on it as you have time, although you'll have to keep an eye out for changes to the page and incorporate them into your version so that you don't accidentally undo all the edits from when you started working on it.

I'm not quite sure why you'd need to make redirects in this case, but for future reference, just use the code [[redirect:Namespace/PageBeingRedirectedTo]] and make sure it's the only thing on the page.

And tsstevens is right, you have free reign to folderize it. Make a note on the discussion page (and note in your edit reason that you made a note on the discussion page, since no one pays attention to them) that people can argue about the format if they like.
