Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
The discussion page with the aforementioned posts by chet120.
Edited by eagle108Sorry, forgot to link.
The 1st post is weirder than I initially thought: he calls (Jesus) Christ a "dominatrix theater actor pedophile" — seems to fall into both "oddly specific" and "rare insults"...
OK, they messaged me back that "it is the entire history of the Crusades".
Which is... yeah I'd already guessed that's what they were trying to do, but it seems more like conspiracy theories, and TV Tropes is for tropes/works, not (Amateur) History lessons right...
I'm tempted to reply that these kinds of posts are better put on the Forums, if at all, not on a Work Page, but I'd like more input.
Edited by LB7979There is a section called Useful Notes for things like that. I believe there is a page on the Crusades already (cannot link off the top of my head), but if they were going to create/edit one, it also needs to be written in a way that is neutral regardless (eg no religious bashing). Putting it on a work page is not the way to go about it (it'd be like someone writing about how the body works on a medical show page).
This reads like an outline to some kind of alternate history project more than anything else. If it's a work the user has made, which they want to make a page for, they can use a sandbox for the planning stage of that page. If it's a work that they're planning but that doesn't exist yet, it goes on Darth Wiki.
If it's just someone's personal political screed, well, that doesn't go on this site. I can't make sense out of what it's supposed to be without further elaboration from the troper, though.
Edited by ZarinaSorry to give this a bump. I'm not sure if its a political screed or an alternate history outline (I can't make sense of what its saying) but it does have a lot of ROCEJ violations and its completely irrelevant to the movie's discussion page.
Edited by SkylaNoivern~Chet 120 What do your discussion posts have anything to do with the content of this movie's page?
Chet120 did something weird on Kingdom of Heaven 's page. (EDIT: Its Discussion page)
For context: this is a film set in Jerusalem during the Crusades. It was also controversial at the time it came out, because it portrays the Muslims mostly as good guys and the Christians, except for the main character, as bad(der) guys; and this came out relatively soon after 9-11.
Chet 120's first post was an insanely long list of what they claim is history. Their 2nd post is even more bizarre, and seems to consist of conspiracy theories, and to be politics-based. Also to maybe attract visitors to his website? (because he also states his, I assume Real-Life, name).
None of this has anything to do with the movie itself, or tropes. The user also is quite new, and has made 0 edits of the Wiki.
I sent them a PM, but it seemed serious enough to also mention here.
