Sandboxes that aren't your own troper sandbox belong to the wiki and if another troper doesn't see any reason not to make the page, then they can just like any other work page.

It still has to abide all wiki rules about works pages but you don't own the sandbox any more than you would own the page itself if you launched it.

Alright. But what about the issue with there being no release window beyond a year?

As long as the page has enough examples and the page's URL doesn't need the date for the sake of disambiguation, then I don't see an issue. Works pages exist without exact release dates all the time.

EDIT: I may be completely outdated. Have to read this page before I can accurately comment.

EDIT EDIT: So Sandbox.Unreleased Works indicates that there's been some relatively recent decision that unreleased works need a release date, but the above administrivia page doesn't have that so... that's a pretty major failing of the wiki. But if that is a requirement for a works page, then the page would need to be cut per my original post. note

When my sandbox got unilaterally published, the mod opinion was that if it meets the standards it's too late to do anything, but did give a strike to the launching troper.
