No thanks, I'll wait for the normal (useful) search to come back.
New search literally finds anything but what I look for - I tried "zed technician" and it found every single page with "zed" and "technician"... except for the creator page itself. Same deal with most pages with a multi-word name: you try to look for the right one, and you get tons of pages you're NOT interested into. The old search, well, is broken for me as well.

I have the same problem. I just hope the old search will be fixed soon.
Wonder if this is something on Google's end, like they made a sudden change to their API or something and now it's no longer compatible with or rejecting the coding TV Tropes uses.

Small update, I'm actually getting search results now. Everything seems normal, except there's still a big loading symbol at the top of the page.
Search results still look a bit funky on Night Vision. The results still show up in blinding light mode instead of dark, but it's a compromise I can live with for now.

The white background is caused by Google's
.gsc-webResult.gsc-result, .gsc-results .gsc-imageResult { background-color: #FFFFFF; }
Adding
background: transparent;
to Tv Trope's bundle.css at
body>#user-prefs.night-vision~* #search-results .gsc-webResult.gsc-result {}
fixes that.
