The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Can involve Hard Mode Perks. For example, in some of the Civilization games, cranking barbarian spawns up to maximum/turning on rapant barbarians borders on a cheat code, because you can quickly train your military units to godly levels at the cost of some mild Early Game Hell. It's enough of an advantage that they actually nerfed how much experience a unit can gain from barbarians in some of the more recent generations.

Troper Wall, sandbox, and I'm trying to kill typos.
A mostly videogame/meta-specific trope where someone would try the easy version of events, but find it too frustrating so they switch to Hard mode and have an easier time because the frustrating stuff is gone. This would also be Truth in Television for quite a few gamers out there.
