Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

I noticed my suggested example got skipped without explanation but I brushed it off because the comic book example I gave was a redlink (Malaysian comic, its work page is on my to-do list) though it was for a crossover of theirs with a work that does have a page: BoBoiBoy Galaxy. I checked regularly (sometimes) but it was never added or addressed as far as I was aware, but I never remarked about it. I also noticed someone's attempt at a Defied Trope example also didn't make the cut, but it was never addressed by the OP either. Oh yeah it was yours. Whoopsy daisy.
Not too sure if this helps, just putting my word in here too I suppose, in case it does help. I shrugged it off but I understand your concern; I'm just not sure what else to do here.
Edited by BlackFaithStar Pantheon Wick Cleaning | "And your Lord never forgets." - 19:64^ Yeah, my main concern is their lack of communication. As far as TLP policy goes, any example (as long as it counts) is free game, and it's common courtesy to add any example that users suggest because they're helping the sponsor out. If the sponsor is going to refuse examples, they should at least address their valid reason for it so it doesn't come off as just "rude", for lack of a better term.
Their posts at the bottom of the comments also hints that they were growing impatient and hastily rushing its launch. They even failed to wait for Halogen's feedback on the Durarara example and went straight to launching anyway.
Edited by DivineFlame100Please bring this concern here as well
I can only offer my humblest apologies, and assure you that this was not out of malice or deliberate neglect, but honest confusion on my part - and a good deal of innate disorganization.
True enough, I was getting impatient.
However, I was also overwhelmed by the examples: I didn't expect the frequency of responses I was getting at the time, and that meant that I was actually losing track of what I was doing or where I was up to. Most of the rejected examples weren't addressed because I simply forgot about them - most prominently the Sonic example.
And looking back at the draft, I'm pretty sure I didn't mean to exclude some examples at all - I simply lost track of them entirely. In hindsight, Black Faith Star, there's nothing objectively wrong with remarking on this sort of thing.
Also, I did wait for Halogen. I waited for four days and heard nothing, so in hindsight, I should have just emailed.
(sigh) Coulda, woulda, shoulda...
Edited by AnotherEpicFail^ Alright, thanks for clarifying. If you feel that TLP is becoming too overwhelming, then don't be afraid to ask for help. Co-operation is a key part of TLP after all.
I'll tell you what. On June 8th when I have the time (tomorrow's my covid vaccine day), I'll sort out the abandoned examples in the draft comments, put them on the trope page proper and crosswick them. How does that sound?
That sounds perfectly reasonable; thank you for your help.
I really do not want to sound petty or pedantic or anything, but I am concerned about a TLP regular named Another Epic Fail, who recently launched Extradimensional Emergency Exit. I noticed that in the original draft, they left out a bunch of suggested examples from other users without addressing them in follow-up posts. They were strangely selective throughout the whole process, and I don't know about you, but it seems like they were deliberately ignoring suggestions for whatever strange reason, which isn't exactly courteous. It's one thing to exclude examples that don't actually qualify (which they did address in a few cases), but the rest are simply abandoned with no explanation.
