Todd doesn't hate ALL pop music, and as self described his music collection as uncool. He even stopped midway through his Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of 1987 to list the kind of stuff of the genre he DOES like.
Besides, pop music is good for what it aims to do. Which the Chick showed nicely in her review of pop music.

Asalieri of Reviewing A Reviewer fame speaks out re: TGWTG reviewers and fans stuffing the ballot box for the Mashable Awards.
I used to like Asalieri, now he's lost it.
His rant about retro gaming reviews was utterly insane. Whining that those games are his memories and nobody should talk about his memories on the Internet.
As for the Mashable Awards, who gives a crap? They know it's not serious.
^^Wow, what an asshole. That video reeks of "If you like TGWTG, you suck"-ness, though he does have a point in that some of the categories are dumb.
Also, can you find Zeether in that video?

Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...^^^And once again, You Tube comments prove to be utterly not worth reading at all.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelYou'd think that with all his reviews on other reviewers, he'd recognise the good ones :(
^Whether any specific TGWTG reviewer is funny is debatable, but Asalieri seems to believe that his opinions that Kickassia sucked, Doug Walker hasn't been funny in over a year, and that anyone who nominates anything related to TGWTG is a "sheep" are factual, when that's complete bullshit; at least, that's the vibe I'm getting.
The whole "Vote them as the Social Media Tool that they are to rebel!" strikes me as yet another futile, dime-a-dozen effort of trying to be different for the sake of being different.

Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...That's a lot of bile without any backup— the main argument seems to be "It's popular, so it sucks!" What a whiner.

Thanks for the all fish!Admittedly, I don't see how TGWTG could win a Mashable at this rate, but on the other, the whole canard of hating on the site for mainly subjective reasons is stupid.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI've yet to find a Nostalgia Critic hater with good arguments. The most I hear are "he's not funny" (subjective) and "he screams a lot" (that's one). Other than that...
It seems like a case of "hating something to be different".
If he went into even a little detail about why TGWTG/Kickassia sucks, or how Spoony supposedly treated his fans like dirt *, then I'd be less irritated by his little call to action. As it stands, however, he's just another idiot who thinks that liking something popular (that he hates) makes them a sheep, completely incapable of thinking on their own.
And, let's be honest, will this change anything? If enough people actually vote against TGWTG, or vote them as a "tool", what's the payoff? The satisfaction of seeing someone I hate * not win some internet award that doesn't seem to matter much, if at all? Face it, Asalieri, you're fighting for a meaningless cause, and you're likely going to lose regardless.

Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...^^^You mean like last year when the site received a flood of rewards?
^I didn't know that, actually. Still, I don't honestly care either way, but the bashing is stupid.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelGood God, thus far its been 20 of Asalieri's viewers saying bull like, "The Critic was funny, but only before he got his own site."; "The Critic hasn't been funny for a year"; "Spoony's a dick for something that's happened once and a while ago"; "Linkara sucks up to feminists and he's a lisping whining bastard"; "Its popular, now it sucks"; "Now they all have big egos and need to be brought down several pegs just because". Good lord, talk about a parade of Fan Dumb. Not even a page worth's of people who like the shows posting...have the guys at TGWTG truly become so unpopular, or does this Assalieri just draw in jerks?

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." -GandalfYou know, despite the bile and the notion that more swearing means it's funnier, he does have a point about people going over the top with nominating them.
^Yes, and The Irate Gamer reviews games that really are terrible. Doesn't change the fact that the material is bad.
I'd like to think that it's mostly people who agree with him commenting, and not indicative of how the majority of people see TGWTG. Considering that the video only has > 3,000 views, that's not a whole lot of whiny jerks crying Ruined FOREVER.
It's kinda like Retsupurae's user comments: Most of them are people agreeing with them, and being an asshole about it ("Yeah, that LPer sucks, you sure showed him!").

Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...I've never seen anyone be an asshole about it.
Kill all math nerdsPerhaps I worded it wrong; I meant that they tend to agree with the video, and attack whoever the video uploader disapproves of (TGWTG, an LPer, or otherwise). Some may also act like a Fan Hater, though when it comes to any sort of Caustic Critic, that tends to happen quite often. Youtube comments aren't known to be the best place for respectful debate, either...
Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...Let's see how much time passes until Busy Street notices this thread and do one of their articles telling everyone that TGWTG suck and that they are the best that ever happened to the Internet.
I can't stop listening to this...I'm not familiar with that name. Care to elaborate?

There is good pop. It just doesn't make good Caustic Critic material. Don't dismiss all pop music based on theworst of the best reviewed on the site.
