IMO, anyone who was in one of the anniversaries is "B-List".

The list of the ones he followed was very short so I went with my favorites that weren't on there regardless of status. Otherwise it would've just been JO, Nash, and Luke.

If you have a place on the front site, you're A-List, if you are in anniversaries, your B-List, if you have anniversary cameos, or no anniversary, then C-list.

That's my logic anyway.

The tiers are pretty hard to arrange. I'm personally a huge fan of Oancitizen, and I at least assume his numerous cameos and crossovers means he's pretty popular (at least among the toher reviewers).

My suggestion is Diamanda Hagan. I suggest Chirpy as a starting point.

See, by "less popular" I was thinking like people on the level of popularity as Mike J (who really is pretty funny, if a bit slower-paced than most of the site's humorous reviewers).

@Jethro: I like Hagan, though her reviews can be very hit and miss sometimes, but when she does a good jobit really shows, a personal favorite is Sextette.

[up][up]I should probably watch more of Hagan’s reviews. She’s one I personally prefer in crossovers as her character is hilarious, and interacts with other reviewers in delightfully fun ways. But I haven’t been terribly impressed with her actual reviews, though I admit I haven’t watched very many of them.

[up]Yeah she's among the reviewers that I like better as actors rather than critics, like the Snob and Film Brain, and I used to include Phelous there too but he really got on my nerves after To Boldly Flee.

Welshy is really good too, and I know I'm on the minority here, but I like E-Rod aka The Blockbuster Buster.

I want to check out Hagan's reviews, but I feel like her gimmick might grate on me quickly. Funny as it is in crossovers, even in those videos it seems a bit overdone.

[up]E-Rod's pretty funny, though I don't think he should attempt storylines. Some reviewers make them work, but his seem a bit forced. His jokes make me laugh, though, so I can't complain there.

[up][up]E-Rod is one of those viewers whose new videos I usually watch when they pop up. I do find him underrated but I also find him a bit hit-and-miss. He tends to overdo the nerd-rage thing and obsesses with too many “acceptable” nerd-friendly targets. And he uses way too many cutaway clips (something, as an up-and-coming Z-list reviewer, I strive to avoid in my own reviews, even lampshading it at one point).

On the plus side, he has good production values and a strong, confident reviewing style. And I like when his real, honest opinion on a work surfaces (as with his recent review of Jason X, you can disagree with him all you want but you have to admire his integrity for not just parroting what he thought the fanboys wanted to hear).

I agree. he is funny, but he is hit or miss. rwecently he's gotten better. he just needs to veer away from the more gimmicky stuff.

Indeed. I always love hearing people's honest opinions on things, and a reviewer that can give their honest opinion while still being entertaining to watch is one I can always get behind. That's partially why I've always preferred Doug's out-of-character videos to his in-character ones, especially since he knows how to articulate his opinions so well.

That's the thing I don't like that some reviewers do, when they go "My character would think that about the matter, but my actual thoughts about it are...", I get they have to include jokes, I get they get hyperbolic for comedic purposes, but isn't the whole point of criticism to give your actual opinion on the subject?

There's a difference between doing something for the joke and doing something for the character. It's easy for early reviews to basically be your own opinion on what you're doing. But if you go for a character (which, might I remind you, is really the draw of the site; not the stuff that's reviewed, but the personalities that do it) then at some point down the road, your character will have developed separately from you, and will have their own opinions.

And then there are things like the Cinema Snob, which are definitely reviews, but are intentionally parodic.

In the world of professional criticism, yes, but these are entertainers first so their reactions to certain works are highly exaggerated for comedic effects. They are basically to serious criticism what Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are to actual news.

And sometimes it's just what's expected of them. see how Nostalgia Critic reacts the same way every time to any mention of the Batcredit card, whereas Doug is thoroughly sick of the subject by now.

Mmm... those are good points.

Speaking of the Snob, his last review of Karate Girl (aka the movie with the worst death scene in all time) is his second review that made laugh out loud, the first one being the Caligula review.

[up][up] Is it mean of me to feel somewhat vindicated that he thinks the Batman and Robin video isn't all that great? When I first saw it I laughed as much as anyone, but the Tom And Jerry review always felt better in more aspects.

[up]The Tom and Jerry review did have the greatest Hamlet parody I've ever seen.

Honestly, Bat Credit Card aside, the Batman And Robin review wasn't all that memorable to me. The Pokemon The First Movie review has always been one I liked a lot, primarily due to having a sense of "I know this and you don't!" about the movie itself XD
