I think he's still around, actually. I'm not sure if he still makes videos for CA, though.

I miss Jesu Otaku's video reviews. I think about digging them up sometimes, but it seems wrong to see him before transition.

Him playing Radical Edward in To Boldly Flee is probably the last big grand moment I seen from him regarding review projects.

While I miss his stuff, I can't say I blame him for putting his focus on ANN instead. I mean almost everyone who makes it as a full time video reviewer does so by having regular content. Not necessarily weekly, but it needs to come out in regular intervals and Jacob was always kind of shatter shot when it came to scripted content and never really built any kind of supplemental material like vlogs or the like.

At least he was honest about quitting the business, unlike say Spoony who set up a patreon and then basically stopped putting out content all together.

It didn't help that, in 2012, Channel Awesome hated crowdfunding and didn't appreciate how vital it became to creators until a ton of their earlier creators left.

I remember hearing about that. I think that was around the time I stopped watching the site. Though I've continued to follow many reviewers introduced to me through the site. I also managed to get into The Dom without ever going to the site. Sorry, just this forum is weird now. There are a lot of people I associate with the site that aren't on it anymore.

I'm glad Jacob has got the ANN dig. I really hope he finishes that visual novel eventually, lol. And that's wild about Spoony not making videos anymore. Does he just stream or has he ghosted?

Oh, Dena! Well I appreciate you posting that if only so I know her youtube channel. I haven't looked into her stuff for years.

Sorry, I'm being a Debbie Downer with the leaving talk lol. Who knows maybe there are some people discovering the site for the first time now and has no concept of the "good old days."

At this point I basically only go to the site itself when I can't wait until Wednesday to watch the new Nostalgia Critic, everyone else I either watch on their own site or on directly on You Tube.

He actually hasn't streamed in months. Which honestly isn't a lost since Spoony is an awful streamer, he'd get mad at his chat when they are offering advice, then get frustrated when he'd get stuck on something, or just plain stay silent for hours on end while playing. At this point he's basically not produced anything in over six months. That his Patreon still earns him over 600 $ bucks a month baffles me (a far cry to when it gave him 5000$ ) But people can spend their money however they want. Though to his (very mild) credits, Spoony's at least removed all the pledge tiers higher than 5$ from his Patreon.

Oh huh, didn't know he stopped streaming. Spoony's gone more down hill than I thought.

Now who's this Dena person that left the site? I don't think I know her content.

[up] Dena mostly posted Let's Plays, horror retrospectives, and Red Dwarf and MLP vlogs. She's one of those CA people who had been on the site for a long time but always kind of slipped under the radar. (Hands up, anyone who has ever watched a Lotus Prince video.)

She says in her video that she's been making videos for 10 years and 8 of those were with TGWTG. I think she's involved with that 2D gimmick reviewer? He has cameos in the first two anniversary specials. Or at least she was very a long time. I know her mostly for her work with Silent Hill. Her Shattered Memories Let's Play is still one of my favorites, and I'm sad she doesn't really do L Ps anymore since they don't really get views.

her silent hill stuff and her red dwarf vlogs are really good

if you even have a passing interest in red dwarf you need to watch her spotlight series on the cat its wonderful

So Animerica has left the site and went into detail on their departure. Evidently, their issues dealt with the producers (as usual), but not in the same way you'd think. His complaints are about the rule for the site that they make two videos a month, by the looks of it, in addition to complaints about the League of Super Critics channel taking views away from other reviewers and instead focusing it on Doug and a couple of other people, in addition to the usual complaints about focusing on the oldest contributors (in this case Doug, Lewis, and Brad) while neglecting others and of course Mike Michaud's incompetence. He's stated repeatedly however that he has no issue with the actual producers and respects Doug and Lewis, but he's disgusted by the site's treatment of the producers. Can't say I blame him.

I was not aware of that policy, though I am very familiar with Mike being a hard-arse.

yeah pretty much the same reason Dena and several other people left. They need to sort this out before it ends up being the few money makers left. I mean what happens if brad or lewis did leave?

i mean how bad do you need to fuck up where you lose talented producers whose dream was to join ca?

Here's an idea. Why not... JUST... TAKE... THE ONLY... MOST POPULAR AND PROFITABLE CREATORS into Channel Awesome?? Why not just be honest about what they care about??

Well I completely forgot to link this, apparently: https://twitter.com/MarzGurl/status/908753761232855040

Marz Gurl has left the site after 9 years. Honestly I feel like she's pretty damn underrated as far as reviewers go, even if it took her a while to find her groove.
