Dangit, I just realized a way to update Blackjack, but I have to make a snap decision, because this might be the only time for, like, the next year where I'll be able to. This is a big fricken thing, so I'd rather get your permission first, hell I'll draw up a character sheet for the end result if you want.

I hate to rework a character so soon, but I feel it must be done now rather than later, 'cause I feel like right now, she really doesn't fit anywhere in this puzzle of a company.

She doesn't really, fit a niche right now. I always feel like she's just kinda there. This would move her from the soldier category(which Kerberos has plenty of) to the heavy trooper category(which is something that kerberos currently lacks in great numbers, as far as I have observed).

... I might be completely blowing something out of proportions though.

I dont want them in great numbers honestly.

Those are the guys that tank up a plot and need special counters.

I dont want to have to deploy more then 1 or 2 special counters a mission, or they lose there... well specialness.

Basicly, to missquote that guy from the incredibles.

... Aye... It's still something I eventually want to do, though, maybe not now.

I still don't know what to do with her really, putting her down as just another G.I. feels weird to me, but maybe that's because putting a Main Character as the equivalent of standard infantry is a foreign concept in my mind.

Precisely what Etheru said. All the employees at Kereberos are intended to be the cream of the crop or "main characters". That's why they're working with Kereberos in the first place.

...Besides. Blackjack already tanks bullets, has magic, has cybernetic implants that allow them to do things beyond the capacity of most normal creatures of her race, and a lot of other things.

If anything, the "not specialized" part comes from the fact they do so much already that nothing about them stands out in particular compared to the other guys who only have one thing they specialize in, so they specialize the shit out of it.

Okay, Mozilla. First thing I'm gonna say; updating your character is not necessary or required. You do not need to stick to her canon just because it changed. Playing fast and loose with canon is certainly viable, and I know because I do it with basically every single character I've ever played, period. And nobody hates me. Right?

In any event, Raidou does raise a good point; approaching a roleplaying game thinking that your character is the "Main Character" is definitely not an approach you should be taking. He also raises another point in that the reason Blackjack doesn't fit in Kerberos is because she does literally everything. She's like a PS 3, but actually truthful about the advertising. Does she need this power boost?

You should probably think about these things before you decide to go through with it. Though, if I may ask, why is "now" the only time you'll be able to update? Could you do it later, or is it a "if I don't do it now I'll forget about it" sort of thing?

Honestly I am having the exact opposite problem with Kasumi in that I feel she does too much.

I may retcon out a few of her abilities.

If I didn't do it tonight, I'd leave to go camping, and forget the ideas I had, is why. My memory is crap. You should see the notebook I have dedicated to remembering stuff for the RP.

Her operation of heavy equipment and flash stepping, I honestly have something else I would have liked to do better....

No, I mean for combat.

The flash step was kind of a way to try and make her close quatersness kinda relevant with all the shooty shooty that goes on.

I some how think a more fun idea then the heavy armour, and the flash stepping when not with that armour though would basicly be syphoning off large amounts of mana for enhanced physical abilities.

AKA, Draining her supply to run fast, regen fast, hit hard, and the like.

So "specialist abilities on demand, but only while the mana lasts". That right?

I don't see why it can't be done. I've had characters do something similar before, so it can certainly work.

Combined with the fact that her magic runs on mana by definition I think it would be both a nerf and kinda fun.

Weapons: HAH! He's a weapon!
Powers: He has the ability to create a dark shield to deflect projectiles, and can create an electric force-field and charge through enemies to absolutely decimate foes! He can discharge all energy into a powerful blast when he's in danger, however, this will cause him to shut down...
Physical Abilities: High-Power hydraulics and sheer mechanical force makes him a force to be reckoned with; even without his powers!
Other Info: He's sort of an Anti-Hero. He doesn't like fighting senselessly, at least not anymore... He instead tries to engage in conversation.

Alright, first off; you don't need a character sheet if you aren't planning on joining Kerberos Security. If you just want to play WAOA without worrying about any of that, the sheet isn't necessary, though I suppose it is nice to have.

Second off, Metal Sonic seems fairly legit. Bonus points for having a character who doesn't charge into fights senselessly. I'm probably not gonna be joining the game for another hour or so due to stuff happening in real-life but I doubt anyone here's going to have big issues with the character.
