I'm asking because this is Alucard from Hellsing we're talking about.

And that's not even getting into the one from Hellsing Abridged.

Sooooooo I suppose I'm saying "I'd be open to the possibility, but you're gonna need to give details on how you want to play him".

...I mean, unless it's gonna be something you save for one of those And Now For Something Completely Different things.

Wellllllllllllll Levin is still not taken seriously, he's kinda treated as the expendable one (on the cliff), and people still have great disdain for him, even though I've cut his bragging. Is this part of the struggle, or am I doing something wrong?

I had the idea in my head that, for...dimensional shenanigan-y reasons, Hellsing has heard of the WAOA group, and for...whatever reason (not entirely clear by this point, but WHO CARES) they decide to send Alucard in to observe. Because the WAOA group gets up to some shenanigans and they want to make sure they're not dangerous.

I guess.

And oh, no, I don't think I could manage playing Hellsing Abridged Alucard regularly. Maybe he could be a ANFSCD character, though.

@Chili ...And sending in Alucard is their idea of a good observer?

...I ain't seein' anyone thinking of him like that. Or, at least, I never played Fido that way.

Yeah, uh, I don't see how that correlates to people purposefully shitting on Levin just because he isn't the most popular guy in town. Do you mean with the characters or the players? Or is that not what you mean?

@ Chili: I actually smirked at that part.

And to be clear, I personally think Levin's...okay. Not bad, not good, just kinda "meeeeeeeh" to me.

Michael may get a good snark in there or two, but that does not mean that I hate the character. Just so Dreig knows.

But of course. His patience and observational skills are top-notch.

I would figure it'd just be because Alucard's the one person they know won't get himself killed in another dimension.

I dunno who Alucard is but I know he is bad, how will it work?

@ Dreig : You do know fido is hella agressive any way right? and Nova has little regard for life. >.<

@Imca: He's not a straight-up antagonist. (In canon, anyway.) He just has priorities, and doesn't let little things like collateral damage get in the way of those priorities.

And I suppose I should mention that, in-universe, he DOES have locks on some of his abilities, put in place by the Hellsing Organization in order to keep him from completely destroying everything. He can unlock some of them by himself if he needs to, but not ALL of them.

Not that simple. Again, I mean IC. I almost ALWAYS mean IC. That's why I asked is it just part of the struggle, even if it's a minor thing. If there's something I should be doing that I'm not, by all means tell me.

To be honest I am very critical of any sort of "A larger organization has sent someone to keep tabs on the group" ideas. Just rubs me the wrong way. :/

@Chili Okay, I got a chuckle out of that. Now, give a more formal character profile so that guys and gals like Imca etc. can have a better idea how you're gonna go about it.

@Imca It's because he's one of the most powerful badass asshole vampires in existence, and is about as nice as The Grinch is tolerant of Christmas.

...Hell, with his character, he'd probably EAT the Grinch. And Santa Claus. And most of the Whos down in Whoville because they never stopped singing.

@Chuck: Well, it's not like much would actually come of it. It's more of a framing device so the character being there makes sense, I suppose.

@Dreig Just fyi, that whole "organization thing observing these travelers" has been done a LOT in this game.

...And technically, it's been done by me too, although my version was the lowest of low key, since the person who was sent to observe everyone was only doing so because their employer just wanted to hear how his friends were doing on occasion.

But trust me. There's been a lot of guys who've done that schtick, justifiable or not.

@Game-Spazzer The majority of the characters are currently investigating a ship that crashed up in a mountain, with only one (Ken) on a side thing and three (Crystal, Michael, Asagi) in another dimension.

But yeah, the village is still there.

I guess not, although it's a little odd that Alucard would just be like "eh whatevs I'll hang with these (mostly) mortals" for no reason.

Maybe he's friends with Natascha and wanted to say hi.

@Dreig ...The question of "Why is everyone still treating Levin like shit every chance they get"?

If it's that, then I think you're overthinking things.

@Chili I dunno. I think that'd be an interesting point to bring up and a hook for later, with Integra constantly trying to call Alucard to stop lounging around wherever-the-hell-he-is and get back home this instant, and him using his absence to troll her.

But it's your call.
