Monster Hunter

Well, if you're sick of farming you can just get a Velociprey S Mail. With the rest of the Mono set you can get Att Up L/XL and Adrenaline +1/+2, even both maximized skills if you have a charm with two slots. I'm stil using Velociprey S in G2 now, for my Honed Blade/Evasion set, so you could get some value out of it.

So I just managed to solo the High Rank Dalamadur while most running out of time. The last part of the battle was a bit tedious, but the whole fight itself definitely had an epic feel fitting for a dragon of that size.

Hmph, terrible evening. Failed every single quest (online), though only two of those deaths were mine.

Fah. Some days you just want to burn this game.

Rumor: Next MH only for PS4 and PC?

The Frontier games have always been a different kind of beast anyway, even when the MH series as a whole was still PS 2-exclusive. The monsters are different, the feel is different, and even the development teams are different. Still a shame we won't see it on a Nintendo console, it's just not a new thing with this sub-series.

The RNG goddess was kind to me this evening. She bestowed unto me 4 wyvern gems (including one off a body carve of all things), and a spawn in the "special mining area" of Volcanic Hollow, where i picked up stuff that i sold for 40,000 zenny, capping off a beautifully successful evening.

I shall now make obeisance to Her. Do you think the RNG goddess likes Caffeine Free Pepsi?

Has Capcom said what April's DLC will be or what even is the release schedule? I keep thinking it will be either Metroid or Mega Man.

Eh, her lady RNG is a fickle mistress. A whole night fighting Zinogre yielded me no Jaspers (which is fair, odds are i'd get one for every 33 Zinogres killed, and i only maybe did 6-10). So instead of continuing to knuckle down at it and get all pissed off at the game, i'm switching to a water lance line, though i have to go back and pick off a few low-rank monsters first.

Then it's off to HR 6. I have everything i want to do mapped out all the way to Barroth X armor in G-rank.

So I just recently played the "Kirin Acquisition" DLC quest and was surprised to see that you had to fight the Kirin and Oroshi Kirin at the same time, and the two were gigantic. Thankfully I went into it with a group, otherwise a Curb-Stomp Battle would've ensued with me on the bad end.

This time's episodic quest was quite hectic as well, especially the final mission: only 15 minutes to defeat an Ukanlos.

Ukanlos is an annoyance. All the buildup to Dalamadur, and then it's like a roadblock to your G-rank victory lap.

Seems like it'll be a hard quest to recruit for, as well. HR 7 people can't help you, but will G-rankers bother? It seems like it's a quest only for people stuck between 7 and 8-star.

Edit: i correct myself. Ukanlos is the asshole of the goddamn universe. I am so beyond pissed off right now.

Capcom is making a spinoff for the 3DS called Monster Hunter Stories, where you tame monsters and ride on them. It seems to be an RPG of some sort.

The community is abuzz due to the image quality on that trailer: mere CGI, cross-compatible with unannounced Wii U version, or is this the NX console?

That looks like very early PS 3/late PS 2 Tales Of graphics to me. Probably just CGI but I wouldn't be surprised if it is for N 3 DS. NX is way to early to have trailers for games.

Any monsters that you want as teammates? I'd definitely want Brachydios, Seregios, and Rajang at the very least.

I wonder if it's even possible to raise monsters like Rajang, since they probably don't have eggs. There was a Congalala in the trailer though.

Riding a Rajang and commanding it to use its thunder breath on other monsters would be completely awesome.

I'd like a pet Barioth, and a Deviljho.

My fighting skills have rusted. I sucked a lot when playing online this morning. I have to play more often.

Now that people are talking in here again, i must add that G-rank seems harder this time than last. I'm having trouble getting through the first set of key quests (which i need in order to unlock the second set of keys, one of which i need to unlock yet another quest, which itself will unlock G-rank Barroth parts at the Wyporium).

Cephadrome in particular seems to kick the ass of whichever room i'm in, sometimes including me.

i've been grindan for the Red and Green Hunter quest

Red and Green is what i need to get through, beating that quest unlocks "Hunt-a-thon: Khezu" which in turn unlocks G-rank Barroth parts in the Wyporium for trade (and it's Khezu/Red Khezu parts that they trade for). My trouble is that without the armor i'm looking for (Barroth X) i can't do both monsters in the same quest like that.

Granted, i play online for everything but gathering quests, so i get help, but i'd still rather not be The Load for either Rathalos (if i play with longsword) or Red Khezu (if i play with Lance). Without Guard Boost, i cannot fight Red Khezu as a lancer, but i'm really good fighting Rathalos with Lance and out of practice fighting him with longsword.

I guess it has to be longsword, but it'll still suck once i get there.
