Yes. Just go to the gathering hall and speak to the questrix.
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanI think we should have this thread's name changed to "Monster Hunter General Discussion".
Thanks for making me know.
How can the thread be renamed? Do we have to ask help to a mod?
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Good news for all LS hunters: we can now start a combo immediately after a fade slash
Interesting. I've not really used LS too much. I've been sticking with DS, Charge Blade, or Insect Glaive so I'll have to try it out.
Lafayette StrongDo you know how to produce the glowing buff on the charge blade? I sometimes get it but I just don't know why
In Tri and Tri Ultimate, you need to fill the combo bar with regular attacks, then once it's full you need to do the main LS combo (done with R on Tri Ultimate, probably the same for 4U). If you successfully land the final hit of the combo, you'll get a white glowing buff on your blade. You can do it at least two more times for yellow and red buffs, but your combo bar goes down faster at those levels.
So that's what that was. I never knew, beyond it likely being something good. Longsword was my second weapon, but i only used it for a few monsters. Now i've done Lance from square one and haven't run into much trouble.
The simultaneously awesome and frustrating part is that only the last hit of the combo matters. If you land it on anything — even a stray Jaggi instead of the Rathian you were aiming for — it activates the buff, but if you land every hit but that last one you get nothing. And then you have to fill the combo bar again.

but they changed it in a very annoying way:
in 3U the Aura would go down red->yellow->white->nothing
now it goes down red->nothing, yellow->nothing, white->nothing
I remember so many times when the monster just jumped out of the reach of finisher when I was about to loose the red buff. So frustrating.
The buffs last 5/3/1 minutes and if I recall correctly gives you 12% attack bonus each.
So they changed it back to the way it was in Tri? I only played the MH P3rd version of the Longsword, so I guess I'll stick with the Insect Glaive for good.
That ain't right.
What does everyone consider to be the most annoying weapon when used by someone else. You know, when someone keeps hitting you with it because of its broad reach, or it sends you flying.
Longsword, swaxe, or charge blade.
4227-1763-3232. My 3DS Friend code.Specifically when the other three people in your group use longswords. > . <
Or when you're using a Hammer, and the guy using the Longsword and the guy using the Charge Blade both keep going for the head.
Protip: Longswords are not for attacking heads, and Charge Blades should also stay away from the head if the group contains a Hammer or Hunting Horn. Charge Blades can KO monsters, but their attacks interrupt Hammer/Hunting Horn users, who are better at K Os.
I ahve to say that I rarely use Charge axe in axe mode except for charging up the shield
Funny enough, I main both Hammer and Hunting Horn, alongside the Greatsword.
What also annoys me is when I'm the one with a hammer but someone with freaking Dual Swords is attacking the head.
Hammer and HH=Head everything elese tail until cut then body
Charge Blade users: what general strategy do you adopt? Do you fill up your vials for a shield charge or do you tend to unleash them in axe combos?
"Listen, all magic is scientific principals presented like 'mystical hoodoo' which is fun, but it's sort of irresponsible."I use all three methodss actually: Shield Charge, Axe combo and extendend axecombo +x at the end of the axecombo, burns all your charges
but mstly I run allong with autoblock and advance slowly and cruelly

I lance, so i'm always on the receiving end of everyone else's shenanigans, unless i'm Ramming.
The Lance Charge is fun to use online, when you're trying not to toss everyone around with it. I've started making a habit of jumping over peoples heads when they get in the way.
I also love using it to chase down limping monsters, killing them before they can get away.
Finally managed to upgrade that Heavy Divider axe. Five Tailbones was too much a requirement, and I had forgotten that I still had to find one more fucium ore (I had to do the Volcano Harvest Tour eight times to get it). After I upgraded the axe, I managed to immediately get all subsequent upgrades, so now I can have fun with this exotic Nainokami that got my attention one year ago.
I'm gonna do some online hunt to debut with it. Wish me luck!

Just one question: Can you play the online quests of 4U offline? One thing I've appreciated from 3U is that very thing.
