How much did Catherine beat Atlus's US sales by? Do we know? Is it something that can just be passed off as multi-consoleism?
I really wouldn't mind if future Atlus games did get PC versions like Catherine was going to get at point point. It wouldn't be a bad choice either, there are a large number of Mega Ten fans on the PC boards I go to. Also: Europe likely wouldn't get ignored with digital distrubiton and region freeness.

IGN said they had no actual sales numbers yet, so it's more of a general statement. We'll likely know soon because they're not going to pass up the chance to talk about it.
God. Damn. Ice. Blocks.
I'm never getting past day five. The sooner I accept that, the better off I'll be.
Harem anime are like soccer. They go on for hours, nobody scores, and a million fans will insist that you just don't understand.Just got the game, and I'm currently in the Quadrangle.
Stuck on the boss level, as usual.
Anyways, does anyone know how to make it so the Catherine OST doesn't come up as Wu-Tang Clan's Legendary Weapons?
YHWH Killed the Polytheism StarMy favorite line from the game:
Fucking blocks! I will climb the SHIT out of you!
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -Landstander"The _____ has appeared. It is the killer. Do not die."
Makes me laugh everrytime. Probably not what Atlus was going for.
Harem anime are like soccer. They go on for hours, nobody scores, and a million fans will insist that you just don't understand. The best is "Now's not the time to die!"
Because there's a correct time for that?
Anyhoo, I beat the game on my first playthrough last night. I got the true Katherine ending. The best part is, I answered all the questions honestly, as if I had cheated on Poison.
And while I like Catherine's characters and gameplay, the story is what was really great. I put off by the game at first because it seemed to ooze heterosexuality in a way that wasn't satire(like with Bayonetta). Now I feel like an idiot for even thinking that's what the game was about.
...Also...I can't believe Erica is a MTF. They call her a "she" and everything. I don't know how many of you are in the LGBT "community", but that's something MAJOR. Gays are never treated with respect, let alone transgendered people. Just...I mean wow. It honestly makes me want to cry that there's a video game with a normal world. Of course Vincent, Orlando, and Johnny would make little jabs at Erica. I never understood them until I saw the ending. But they're doing it in a "You're my friend, I love you" way, not a "You're disgusting" way.
EDGE and LOVE IS OVER are my favorites.
I especially like how the two elderly twins in the stray sheep reference it if you let the police officer die.
Lindsay : "Goodbye Mister Morgan."
Martha: "Goodbye Mister Morgan."
Both: "Our love is over."
I wonder who those two really are though.
Yeah I like how they handled Erica, also how it is foreshadowed constantly but subtly.

Umbran Climax◊God EDGE! gets so annoying. It's worse than 'Rebel One! Fight!'
We have a cosplay ball at my school.
A friend of mine is going to make a costume that consists of four cardboard boxes. One for head, torso, and each hand.
He's then going to move his hands up and down repeatedly and shout EDGE! EDGE! EDGE! EDGE! EDGE!
It should be fun.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderNow all we need is a half-naked man in boxers wearing sheep horns!
I spread my wings, fly away. The wind sweeps me off my feet, blowing me away yeah. Trees whispering to me. I'm feeling free now.Watching it now. Asssumption - he hates it, it's Japanese and not a shooter.
Not as harsh as I thought but...yup. I pretty much knew he'd hate it since it's not Portal or made like...20 years ago.
So umm.. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I'm at the last stage.
I just have to say this much:
When the description for Boss called to attention the glasses that he constantly wears, I knew right before I even started playing the game that that detail would play a rather important part somewhere. I wasn't too surprised to find it out, though the reveal wasn't exactly what I expected either.
I'm not sure about transsexuals, but according to my Japanese-American friend, gay rights has pretty much become a non-issue in Japan.
And honestly transsexuals don't get enough positive attention in the media. One of my biggest problems with 'The Hangover: Part II', was how it used transsexuals as shock value. You could argue that 'Catherine' also used Erica for shock value, but at least it was done in a much more respectable way.

^^^Eh, he said that it kept him playing to the end. From Yahtzee, that's relatively high on the curve, especially when compared to other Japanese games.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyEh, point. Usually he just plays a few hours then talks about the game as a whole while blatantly showing his ignorance of everything past the first three hours.
Then again, Catherine's a short game.
That reminds me of how he complained in TWEWY about how the scene that establishes Minamimoto as a math-obsessed nutjob who gives you really easy puzzles for no reason and Joshua as a Jerkass was bad because...the puzzle was way too easy and it made Joshua look like a Jerkass.

Infinite Tree: an experimental storySo I just beat the game and got the Bad Lover ending.
I have a feeling that this is a profoundly mediocre ending, and I should probably play the game again to get a more interesting one, but ehhhhhh. Maybe in a few months.
Kill all math nerdsthreadHop: hi, so what is this game about?
hashtagsarestupidLove. Which I believe is over.
His complaints about TWEWY were...odd, but yeah, we probably ought to get back on topic.
