[up]Given that they have four mainline titles and four spinoffs (counting Makai Kingdom) to go before that, to say nothing of the rest of their back-catalogue, not for a good few years.

I do hope that you're not going to keep waiting for it...

EDIT: Unless you were talking about Persona 5.

So, I've been chipping away at Disgaea 4 for a while now, and I think I may be stuck on 7-4.

So many reaper things, so many Bouncers...

Is there a good strategy that doesn't boil down to grinding?

Is that the one where you're fenced in at the beginning by a no entry symbol? Don't take down the no entry symbol until you've killed as much stuff as you can from behind the barrier. A mage will let you keep replenishing your SP so you can stay back there as long as you want. You just need to be careful about enemy attack range and killing off anything that's a real threat to you quickly.

[up]Yes it is.

I'll keep that advice in mind when I get around to another play session!

Well, Phantom Brave PC is going to be a thing, at least. Phantom Brave was pretty great.

Phantom Brave PC does look great! I'm really looking forward to playing it with a mouse.

Not going to lie I prefer the console games to the PC but I am really hoping that they will release Makai Kingdom for the PC and it will the the PSP version with all that extra content.

I want Soul Nomad and the World Eaters, personally.

I want La Pucelle, mainly because that game's age shows quite a bit in its interface design, so this would be a chance to update it. Also, we never got it uncensored or the PSP content despite most of the Disgaea cameos being based on said content.

Fortunately, there's a fan translation of the entire PSP port.

Unfortunately, it uses single-width font and no contractions at all, so what's even the point?

A new character? Is it a sympathetic protagonist?

[up]That probably depends on whether or not you found Mettalia sympathetic.

I'd be very surprised if this one went the Lighter and Softer route.

Speaking of Hundred Knight 2, I just hope it's more... fun. Really didn't like the first on PS 3.

And yes, an actually likable protag would help.

Metallia was sympathetic, even if she was a bit mean.

Doesn't really have to do with the topic at hand, but I'd just like to say how great Flonne is as a character.

She's cute, funny, and Moe, but also a massive nerd and has a hilarious hatred of dvd players.

I appreciated that the story for all the Black Comedy and weirdness didn't crush Flonne like a more cynical game would have.

She learns to grow up a bit in the Netherworld, but she's proven right that a peaceful solution can be achieved and Laharl really can change for the better.

It was very sweet. She has a lot of typical Moe traits, but damn if they're not executed well.

I remember going into games expecting to hate her for being too Moe. Boy, was I surprised... She is among my NIS favourites.

I enjoy the character in Disgaea 1 and 2 (the only ones I own so far), but boy is her combat potential low... I'm probably doing something wrong in how I'm leveling her, of course.

She was my favorite character in the first game.

And nah, she's pretty bad. Bows aren't very good and she doesn't learn any offensive spells naturally. Her stats are also just a flat 100% across the board like the other story characters minus Thursday, meaning she can't even specialize as well as the generics.

With enough effort, you can have her learn every spell in Disgaea 1 by raising generics alongside her.

Disgaea D2 did a lot better about making her useful alone.

The question would be whether it's worth the time to do that, with her mediocre Int aptitude.
