It doesn't replace Final Boss Setting. The most evilities a character can have at any one time is 4 - either a fused monster with its three evilities and the primary of its partner, or a dual wielding humanoid with the primaries of each of hir weapons.

EDIT - Oh, right. Yeah, it replaces FBS on Des-X. She really isn't a great unit on her own.

Yeah, I was talking about Des-X.

I am actually kinda amused that Des-X is "Desco, but worse", as storywise, she is supposed to be better.

I'll be busy being amazed that they made a Val even better than vanilla Val. Excuse me.

A look at the Disgaea Team's next game. Looks a little like Zettai Hero Project HD.

I never played Zettai Hero Project. In fact, I am not even sure what genre it is?

Is it any good?

Z.H.P. is a roguelike, like Shiren the Wanderer or Nethack. It's pretty hard, but it's also pretty rewarding.

Not Three Laws compliant.

I'm currently on Chapter 7 of Disgaea 4. What should I expect of the coming areas?

Somehow, my Val is at level 115, other levels being high seventies or low eighties, with Emizel almost catching up to Val. I have to say, Absorption + Bloody Battle makes any Clone panels incredibly hilarious.

I think it was the numerous trips to Item World to level up every single weapon for every single person I use in my team.

Trying to make a Magic Knight with balanced Attack and Intelligence, any weapon I should get for that?

I also have a Succubus, currently leveling her up as well. Promising results so far.

There are swords that also grant the wielder intelligence; if you could find a legendary one and vote for "more int" a few times, you might get something workable.

Disgaea seems to reward specialization in the characters, but having a proper Magic Knight is just damn fun, isn't it?

Yeah. Magic Knights are fun in games like this. You can either magic them from far away, or go for stabbity death.

BTW: Debating making a Death. Are they viable? If so, I will name it Kill=Vearn, a reference that only I will most likely ever get.

Also made a Skeleton Dragon. Had a good one in Disgaea 2.

I also made a Rifle Demon. What Evility should I use with him for a strong offensive unit?

I Reincarnated a Gargoyle some time ago, should I bother training it back up and updating his equipment?

Deaths are fun for their evility. When you're facing a powerful boss who likes to murdelize you with special attacks, having your Giant Desco's attacks draining their SP as well can be extremely helpful.

My gargoyle is probably my most powerful generic monster, but I've found that my experiences with these classes are... atypical.

My Dragon, Sucubus, and Nekomata are my strongest monsters. Then again, my dragon and Nekomata are used for the Giant Fist for big bang level grinding so it makes sense but I'm getting a head of myself. Anyways, you're going to want someone with a high Jump stat and I mean high cause there's a level on the final chapter that will be very annoying to do the legit way.

Also, more information on HD Zetta Hero Game called God And Fate Revolution Paradox. Asagi is back, with a new voice actress (Aya Uchida) and she may or may not be important to the story. Also, the game will be out in December (in Japan).

I know Val is stupidly broken, but level 117 before the final chapter is crazy. You might run into the bad ending by mistake and get screwed for a while if you are not careful. (though the stage you need to solo with Val to get the Bad End is stupid hard already, so maybe not)

Whenever a unit starts getting that ahead of the pack, I just flat out stop using them until the rest catch up.

I love Magic Knights, I really do, but they do suffer from "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" in this game. In terms of stats, their STR and INT are passible I guess, but the Fighter and Mage/Skull excel better in the stat they'd use. In terms of moves, they are pretty crap, not getting pass the first tier of spells and getting just barely to the third tier of sword moves at first tier. They do get elemental buff and debuff skills, but I never found a use for them. If you reincarnate a Mage with Magic Wand, you could probably stick a Magic Knight with a staff and have them be a decent attacker, though they won't have access to the sword moves, and have access to the Mage's higher level magics. That would probably be best.

Oh, and Magic Knights have lousy speed for some reason. I had to stick mine with boots and the "Speed up on level up" cabinet position for a while, and even then she is probably one of my slowest units.

...That specific ending is only obtainable through soloing the entire semifinal stage with Val. On level 500+. I find it highly improbable to reach that ending on accident, let alone on the first cycle.

And as for GFRP (funny how the only games that are really discussed on this thread are the Neptunia and Disgaea series'), anyone else notice the borderline role reversal that's been shown so far? It'd be interesting to see how the almost-obligatory Laharl cameo is going to play out.

I didn't know about the level requirement. Just that you had to solo the stage as Val.

Of course, 500 is still too low a level to beat the game on the Bad Ending path.

As for the role reversal, I wouldn't be surprised if how either side is presented isn't majorly changed at all. Demons and angels in the Nippon Ichi verse already are Not So Different. From the looks of things, I wouldn't be surprised if this game did the same thing.

Update: Its level 145 now. Grinding in this game is oddly enjoyable. Simply for the motherfucking huge numbers he keeps churning out. I managed to give +4 to most of his skills.

I...quite agree with Fenrich. Lord Valvatorez is awesome. I am curious as to what he was like when he was at full power...

Reincarnated both of the Fighters into Gladiators. Got them back to level 50-60 within the next hour.

Poor Magic Knight class. I might just use someone else instead.

Succubus is already level 55-60. She does some crazy awesome damage with her skills for Tier 1, mainly because I use a Level 20 weapon rather than lvl 10.

Still haven't gotten to Leveling Varancain, my Skeleton Dragon. Debating which weapon will fit him best.

And Desco with Mana Scarcity, Final Boss Setting and 3 Transformations is murder. Will be even moreso once I give her her newest weapon, a level 20 high tier weapon.

And I am still just at the start of chapter 8. Poor President did not even get a hit in against my team. He really did go soft...

From what I've heard, Tyrant Val is basically Val, but better in every way. Which is saying something, as normal Val is probably the most broken Disgaea protagonist.

Makes sense I guess. You know who else has the title of Tyrant in the NIS verse? Baal.

I hear he turns defeated enemies into allies. That...would be funny looking. Oh, I just defeated you, horde of dragons. I guess I just got four new Dragon allies.

And I had way too much fun in Chapter 6 with the Axel Swarm at the last chapter. Namely, sending out low level characters against them while Val straight up murdered Axel.

So, what does Deprave do? Does it weaken defenses or something?

My Death will be so much fun, as its own techniques look cool. Is its ultimate the same as Hugo's technique he had at the end of Chapter 7?

I also recently fused Desco, and then immediately Magichanged with Val. The result was just incredibly cool looking.

He has it as an equippable evility titled No Life King, though it's rather useless in that you can't control the converted units (not to mention the effects only last up until you beat the stage, though that part's fairly logical) and they always start off with their HP at 1. I'll admit that it was pretty fun to abuse during the last stage of his additional chapter, though.

I cannot deny how awesome Desco becomes once I fuse her with a Rifle Demon, equip a Power Weight, align a lot of units around her, and then just fire off the Godly Weapon at a group of enemies. The best damage I've gotten from that was almost 15000.

And that's without one of the higher tier weapons.
