Unfulfilled Heart: Completed.

Vaida: Boobs still huge. Apart from that, she did nothing interesting.

Dart: Useful vs. Wyvern reinforcements.

Canas: Ditto.

Lyn plus Wyrmslayer plus fortress: Ditto ditto.

Speaking of Lyn: Promoted.

Village: Saved.

Knight Crest: Stolen, and believe me it took a couple restarts to do both those things.

Lyn's random tracking ability: Kind of an Ass Pull.

Yeah, Rath would have been a more likely tracker, but I guess he can die.

I gave the Afa Drop's to Heath...and then he died :(

Speaking of which, I have officially completed my Eliwood Normal Endurance run. It was nailbiting, but hte deed was done.

May we please have a moment of silence for my fallen comrades:

Canas Heath Lucius Priscilla (Lucius AND Priscilla...poor Raven) ...And Matthew, who died on Victory or Death. I like to think that when they left Dread Isle, Hector and Oswin exhumed Lelia's grave and had her and Matthew rest in peace in Ostia.

My A pairings were eliwood/hector, lyn/florina, nino/jaffar, and lowen/rebecca. I think I may take a bit of a break from FE before I try hector normal. I'll probably play normally this time (ie if they die, I restart). Maybe I'll look into the Fire emblem draft games and see if I can organize a tvtropes edition of it.

Pale Flower of Darkness: Completed.

Vaida and Sonia in the same room: Surprised the universe didn't implode from the boobage.

Turned out to be: Jerme edition.

Farina: Level 20 already; I subsequently promoted her with the Elysian Whip from her introductory chapter.

Eliwood: Also level 20 now. With 10 strength. Curse you, Random Number God...

Jerme: Has a really high, shrieky voice, I've decided, as though he's about to burst out into insane laughter at any minute.

I love it when units come with their own promotion items. So convenient.

Also, fun fact for those who are unaware, Jerme and Kenneth are implied to have been completely normal, honorable Black Fang members before Nergal came along and messed with their heads.

I hate it when I get Kenneth's map. It's nowhere near as interesting as Jerme's. In design, snow schedule, and how Karel is unlocked.

[up][up]Was he fast at least? My Eliwood's only real weaknesses were speed and resistance

Also: I forgot to make a comment on Sonia's bitch moment. So here's one.

Sonia: Is an utterly horrid human being, even though she's not really a human being. However, I dig the cloak she wears in her map sprite. I do sort of wonder how the game would have been different if, as I originally thought it would be, she really did care about Nino...

Battle before Dawn: Completed.

Time Paradox: Averted.

Is that a good thing?: Debatable.

Ursula: Another sad death from the Fang. She is also probably the least-heterosexual character in this game, though it's possible she simply has Single-Target Sexuality.

Limstella: I dunno why people debate what gender she is, given that Ursula up and calls her "my lady." Unless that's not in the Japanese version...

Jaffar: Got to him just in time. Killing Edge wore out early, but by that point the reaver guys were gone and he could dodge everything else. I was scared I wouldn't make it to him, and I actually had to plonk Nino down right next to some enemies for it to be possible, but thankfully Uncle Canas was nearby to rescue her.

Chests: Raided all four! I think this may only be the second time I've done that...

Queen Hellene: Is also a terrible mother, though I can't really blame her 'cause she's married to Desmond...

Eclipse: Useful, believe it or not. I used it to zap Maxime.

FYI, the reason people call Limstella genderless is because Word of God stated as such. However, I think it also stated that they had to refer to her as/make her female in the final product due to technical limitations.

[up] I know the manual listed her gender as "unknown." It's just that this is contradicted by the game.

I wouldn't say Hellene is a terrible mother. She just has a habit of forgetting what matters most.

Though I could be saying that because Desmond is an absolute douchebag.

[up][up]Again, technical limitations. How would you go about making a genderless character in a game where every nonunique class has a gender? I guess they considered it would be too odd to have a unique class for her, since she isn't as "unique" as Kishuna or as plot important as Athos or Nergal.

Well, technically she does have a unique class, but it is identical to the female sage base wise except for con, which is the same as the male sage. Her caps are higher in both Defense and Resistance than both though. Maybe they did intend for her to use a unique "genderless sage" class but decided to change it at the last minute and just give her the female sage animation for some reason? I guess trying to make a genderless sage who still looks like the fairly female looking Limstella (although she does look androgynous in a Lucius way to me though) would be hard.

Limstella always looked female to me. Androgynous, but female nonetheless. She is also a very fun boss.

Battle Before Dawn is the only map I use long-range magic on; Pent usually zaps a few thieves while my own are catching up and injures Maxime. Bolting should be more widely available because Eclipse is useless and it's fun to be on the other end for a change.

Using a Warp or Rescue staff seems like an ingenious strategy, but I've never remembered until later. In fact, I generally forget about them altogether sad.

I actually thought Ursula was going to be recruitable right up until I killed her, especially with her cameo giving you the Hammerne.

In addition to my stalled Eliwood Hard Mode and ongoing first attempt at Sword of Seals, I am now also replaying Sacred Stones because a Let's Play made me nostalgic for overpowered characters and a swordmaster with a Cool Hat. Speaking of overpowered characters, ROSS.

FE 6 Chapter 8x:

Very linear, easy enemies: The map (probably for training the plethora of new characters)

Up until: The boss, who was difficult to hit. Rutger FTW.

Bandits: Sympathetic; the leader sounded almost resigned to their defeat...it made me not want to kill them. I'm going to say this sad experience is what causes Lilina to recruit Gonzales and Garret later.

Henning was probably the most difficult boss up to that point. I ended up just having Thany take hits from his Hand Axe until it ran out.

Night of Farewells: Completed.

Nino: Leveling up fine; parked her behind Sain and had her pick off what he didn't beat in one round.

Sonia: Uncle Canas disapproves.

Limstella: Has kickass theme music.

Wyverns: Really annoying. But no match for Dart.

Sain: Excellent wall, but it got kind of boring watching him get all the EXP.

Eliwood: Promoted, angelic robe'd, shipped with Ninian. Yes, I did that last time, but it just. Makes. Sense.

Brendan Reed: I know I should be giving him some respect given that this is his death chapter and he went out like a badass, but I'm sorry, he's a moron. He found out Sonia's past and STILL kept her around? For Elimine's sake, man, is she THAT hot?

...wait a minute: She IS that hot. Forget I said anything.

The Reeds: Great characters, all five of them. But I realized we actually see very little of them. I NEED MOAR REEDS, DAMMIT!

Jan: He's really an adorable, mousy little guy, isn't he. I'd have liked a playable Brigand...

And, for fun, this game's unsolved mysteries:

  • WAS Lord Elbert involved in Darin's plot?
  • What the (EFF!) happened to Sonia, anyway?
  • Any more you guys can think of...?

What the (EFF!) happened to Sonia, anyway?

You killed her in 26x. Or if you didn't get that chapter (can't blame you there. URSULA! ARGH) I think Limstella conveniently kills her for you? It's been awhile since I actually watched the cutscenes, so...

HamburgerTime Since: Apr, 2010
#1018: Jun 17th 2011 at 12:15:21 AM

[up] Nope, she's seen still clinging to life after the conclusion of the chapter. Limstella shows up, gives her a Hannibal Lecture and the boot from Nergal's good graces, she calls after her that she's human, then... nothing.

Makes you wonder how Hector seized the throne. Did Canas shove her off it or something?

Interesting bit of trivia about me that nobody asked for: When I was a young wiki editor, I got into a minor Edit War over at The Other Wiki's page on the game over whether or not we could resolutely state Sonia was "dead." I thought her final scene was too ambiguous to make that call for sure; a more senior user disagreed. Yes, I am utterly lame.

Grim Reunion: Finished

Wil: Got 2 level ups with speed! Now he has 10, which is awesome.

Nils: Still helpful, also a dodge tank.

Florina: Flew into the nearest mountain fortress and locked all the doors, preventing the bandits from leaving.

Wallace: Guarded the top of the map.

Eagler: Sympathetic. He also put up a fight, and I respect him for giving Wil a speed level up.

The Distant Plains: Finished.

Lyn Mode: Finished.

Lundgren: Finished. Also, a bastard.

Wil: Pretty cool, at level 19 he has great HP and skill, good strength, and bleh speed.

Wil's Training: Almost finished, but Lundgren left him with 98 experience as a final act of douchery.

Hector Mode: Started.

Soon to be using: Eliwood and Marcus.

Hoping: Neither of them gets screwed.

Also, Another Journey is now finished, and I got a Red Gem. Not much happened, honestly.

Triple post: Whatever

Birds of a Feather: Finished

Eliwood: Leveled up 3 times, killed the boss through dodge tanking. The first two level ups were good (he got HP, Str, Spd, Def, Res and Luck in them total, and the Secret Book buffed his Skill) but the last level up just gave Luck.

Marcus: Saved Hector and pals, killing all the upper area units. So far he is doing pretty well, hopefully he doesn't get screwed over.

Up next: In Search of Truth.

wild mass guessElbert pretended to support Darin, so that he could get close to the Black Fang, which he had learned of and knew were the root of the problem. He then used the connections gained from pretending to follow Darin to try to sabotage them, and it eventually led up to what happened during the game.wild mass guess

I never really wondered about Elbert so much. I guess I was too busy marveling at the Fridge Brilliance: The reason why both Bern and Roy's army can just march into the resting place of the Divine Weapons and just take them? (or in Bern's case, destroy them?) Because Bramimond undid the seal on them in Blazing Sword so that Eliwood and crew could use them against Nergal. (and only a limited number of them I might add)

I guess Bramimond and Athos didn't think that through all the way...
