[up][up]You say that like you expected anything resembling quality from a game that's essentially one long rape joke.

[up]Ninjas and Mages are rarely bad to have in Fates, after all.

In the same game, no less. Aimee is the merchant who stalks Ike and Amy is the little branded girl Calill adopted.

Cleared Ch. 12 but a bit of a Pyrrhic Victory - I wasn't able to get the treasure thanks to a combination of an Entrap Staff connecting on Kaze and the Assholes wandering into range on the same turn so I just had to cheese it. Thankfully this wasn't an "escape with everyone map - of which I'm told there's one later.

Also Takumi shoots frail healer girls out of racism.

Ah, the pottery shop. One hell of a time that was. Then again Lunaitc makes almost everything hell.

The worst part? One of the poisons next to the Dragon Vein is a HP HALF DEBUFF. Fun.

Though a Cavalier with Shelter combined with a Rally Defense buff (likely from Haitaka) can atleast keep the now frail royal safe.

Went and did a Paralogue. Is recruiting offspring form the deeprealms ethnically questionable? It's a bit hard to pinpoint how old Siegbert is supposed to be.

Battery started diyng, but watched the scene with Izana in it... And yeah, more questionable decisions from the Nohrian royals, this time from more than one! Well, sort of...

On one hand, could just end the war faster this way, on the other, breaking the neutrality of a neutral territory is a really shitty thing to do. Though Hoshido already pulled that one back in Nestra. Still not an excuse to do it too. And then there is the question of "is there really ANY honor in war?" when you consider it's just violent politics.

I want to play a Hoshido where I let Kaze die. What's a good name for someone who's a jerk?

(I was thinking Brad)

Kevin?

Donald?

Asshat?

Taserface?

And I don't know anything about the Hoshido or Revelations playthrough, but why kill Kaze?

[up]IntSys felt that there NEEDED to be a death at Chapter 15 of Birthright and decided to make the most convoluted thing for Kaze to die unless he's at least A-rank with the Avatar.

Because you know, being A-rank means you can suddenly see a weird crystal on the ledge of a cliff.

Huh. No idea what that could be, so you didn't actually spoil anything. Thank you.

And for when I do get my Birthright download, this will at least be a useful heads-up.

[up][up]More like "Being on A-rank means that Kaze has already spilled his guts to you, so isn't as burdened by feelings of self-loathing by Chapter 15."

Kaze's death is weird on so many levels because there's a perfectly good reason for it to exist and also a perfectly good reason for the A-support to save him but they somehow managed to fuck it up in the most baffling ways possible. Having a scene where Kaze sacrifices himself to save Corrin to make up for his guilt over not noticing the trap in Cheve makes sense. And since Kaze already admitted his feelings of guilt to Corrin and asked to be his retainer in his A-Support, the very thing he approaches Corrin for in the version where he dies, it makes perfect sense that having an A-rank would prevent his death. Yet somehow they 1: chose to kill him off with a random earthquake instead of something more sensible like an enemy ambush or something (imagine if his death scene had him redeem himself by successfully spotting the ambush this time) and 2: Kaze somehow approaches Corrin even when they do have an A-Support (for no real reason in particular) and the exact same scene plays out except this time Kaze just has better eye-vision I guess. It's probably the most confusing scene in all of Fates because writing a version that actually makes perfect logical and thematic sense would be so much more simple and straightforward than what they actually went with.

[up]The scene doesn't actually play out completely the same if you have an A-rank support with Kaze. If you achieve the A-rank, it starts with Kaze affirming to you that he will always be by your side, and the Avatar thanks him. If you don't, he asks if he can serve you, and prepares to spill his guts out to you before the gravity of the situation fully hits. Similar, but not completely the same.

I personally don't have any strong feelings toward this scene. Don't particularly love it, but don't particularly hate it either. I always get A-rank support with Kaze anyways. Also, Kaze is totally a video game player. Who doesn't hit crystals hoping at least something pops up or it does something? Or have I just played too many games with crystal-like switches or games where hitting a crystal causes more crystals to pop out?

The thing is though that both versions has Kaze and Corrin stop and talk with each other after the battle's over so logically the same thing should happen but somehow they don't. It would make far more sense if Kaze simply didn't go to talk with Corrin if he had an A-Support (it's not like the scene where Kaze survives serves any actual purpose).

[up]Thing is, the scene where Kaze talks to Avatar is much, much shorter if you have reached A-rank. As in, he only says one line of dialogue before the earthquake hits. Granted, earthquake still hits after they've finished talking, but the scenes still aren't the same.

As for why the earthquake happens...blame the Earth Dragons. Always blame the Earth Dragons. Racist jerks.

And the scene totally does have a purpose: to let you know you can still use Kaze for future maps.

[up]Just kind of curious on how many bad Brads you know of to assume such a thing, since there are over 100,000 people named Brad in the US.

10...so assuming there's about 100,000 Brads in the world, you are making an assumption based on 0.01% of the entire population...

I think you owe an apology to the Brads in the world.
