Some of the Binding Blade characters got localized names through Fire Emblem Heroes, so it's probably a good idea to double-check the names.

It's weird how Shanna's default portrait in her status screen and mini-icon is always going grin instead of the neutral expression everyone else gets.

Barthe and Gwendy can Triangle Attack with Bors. It's cute, but trying to manoeuvre three Knights into position is beyond difficult.

There's a reason that 90% of the time it goes to high mobility Pegasus Knights.

Given the sheer defenses on the boss of their debut chapter, if you've been using Bors much him leading the charge with that Triangle Attack might actually work out in that single instance.

Speaking of Knights, let's talk about the history of Knights.

So far, we had:

1/11/3/12 - Draug, Roger, Dolph, Macellan, Horace, Lorenz
2 - Luka, Forstyth, Valbar (I know the former two are Soldier but they promote to Knights so they count)
4 - Arden, Hannibal
5 - Dalshin, Xavier
6 - Bors, Barthe, Gwendolyn, Douglas
7 - Wallace, Oswin
8 - Gilliam
9 - Gatrie, Brom
10 - Meg, Gatrie, Brom
13 - Kellam, Kjelle
14 - Effie, Benny, Ignatius

Knight have high attack and defense but no speed or movement. People say that they are bad because of their latter flaws. I found that FE 4 and 6 have done them worst because of their lack of incentive and high movement requirement. FE 7 wasn't bad because 1) Oswin and 2) Several defense missions. FE 8 is probably okay but I never consistently use Gilliam or promote Amelia into a General.

There's the fact that Paladin egregiously have 30 defense cap, making General sorta not useful in the DS games.

I think they have some incentive in defense mission or in maps where movement isn't really prioritized. Plus, I think the 3DS games done the Knight justice because of pair up allows them to get to places quicker and even provide strength and defense.

[up][up]how could you have forgotten Sheema, the first female Armor (well technically she's a General, but Generals promote from Armor Knights so she counts!)

and I beg to differ on the DS games; Generals are super useful when it really matters for the early part of the game

FE 11 Wolf/Sedgar and FE 12 Arran/Sirius would like to have some words with you

playing New Mystery Lunatic Reverse, currently finishing up Chapter 7

so I bait the fire dragon out of its cave with Dracoknight Sirius, and it decides to attack him at 1-range (where he can counter with his Silver Lance), rather than at 2 range

then I saw that the fire dragon somehow equipped a Firestone to attack Sirius with, despite:

  • already being transformed
  • having a perfectly usable 1-2 range breath attack

apparently the AI is wasting uses on the droppable Firestone to depreciate its resale value

Spiteful A.I. at work, folks. this is just like earlier in Chapter 5 where an enemy mage decided to attack Marth with a crappy Fire tome instead of using the more powerful Bolganone tome

Awakening Female-Only Playthrough: Paralogue 17

On the barracks, Frederick and Panne talks, Sully and Virion talks, Maribelle and Severa talks, Frederick and Severa talks, and Frederick finds a Miniature Lance.

On supports, we got Robin x Lucina B and Cynthia x Severa C.

Since Miriel reached Level 17 as a Sage, I decided to reclass her into a Valkryie. I gave Sully a Second Seal in case she reaches Level 15 so I could reclass her mid-chapter.

On to the chapter, we must defend Tiki. I'm leaving Panne, Sully, Lissa, Say'ri, Olivia, Maribelle, and Anna in this map.

Reset #12/13/14: The last wave was overwhelming and reached Tiki far too much. They spawn like four guys on each side so it is difficult for me to take care of all of them.

I actually gave Noire two Speedwing just so she could at least double the Gryphon Riders. I also fed Severa a Speedwing so she could double the Falcon Knights.

Cynthia, Severa, Cordelia, and Lucina will take care of most things on the left side while Noire, Nowi, and Miriel took care of the right side. The rest will try to pick off the stranglers that get close to Tiki.

Not much to say about this since I just defend Tiki from the fliers. Only one of the last wave got to her but thankfully, she lived since she wasn't damaged in the previous wave and the Dark Flier missed anyways.

As the last few enemies advances, Lucina got a double portrait from an Aether critical.

The boss decided to attack Tharja and I decide to give her the kill so that she could reach Level 15 and get Tomebreaker. I got a Hammerne from the fight, though I'm not sure what I going to use it on.

Heroes: Cynthia & Severa
Chrom Pair-Up of the Battle: Nowi

There was a merchant for some time that had a Dragonstone+, I bought it.

Yeah, that definitely helped out a lot in making knights more usable in my opinion.

Speaking of Fates in particular, Effie is one of the best characters in the game, hands down, and really reignited my appreciation for armor knights due to the fact that she was a One-Woman Army and a desperately-needed wall. (Before that, I just kind of ignored them in favor of myrmidons or something, since I much preferred dodgetanking to facetanking, and it worked pretty well. The only one I really bothered to use was Gatrie, but...he was kind of amazing at everything except Resistance and climbing up ledges in Radiant Dawn.)

Especially because Fates in general makes physical defense great and speed much less important due to the RNG, and dodgetanking far, far less reliable.
