I meant if they decide to have a remake of FE 6 or a silly crossover thing or something.

So have Treehouse outsource localization? I'd like that, if only to see Marth call someone a subhuman.

Here's my question: would any of the Avatars appear? Would they be customizable?

I may have to get a Super Famicom sometime this summer so my copies of Mystery of the Emblem and Genealogy of the Holy War can get some use. Looking over at Amazon right now they're around $50-$80. Not bad for Used.

Now if only Thracia 776 wasn't so ridiculously hard or expensive to find...I'd have a better chance of finding a used working copy of Path of Radiance. Ironically, I have a strategy guide for Thracia 776 that I bought for $5.

A super famicom for 50 dollars? Man. That's really good for a piece of twenty year old tech that never escaped Japan.

it's pretty much the same as a SNES, internals and everything

you can play Super Famicom games on a SNES (with some slight modding to the SNES) but you can't play SNES games on a Super Famicom (due to SNES carts being too big to fit inside a SFC cartridge slot)

That "slight modding", by the way? It's just removing a couple plastic tabs that make it difficult to fit a Super Famicom cart in the slot. That's it.

That IS slight modding.

I'm only getting a Super Famicom because it's slightly cheaper and I'm only going to be playing these two games on it anyway.

Come to think of it, I remember seeing a cart for Thracia 776 for $100 at MAG Fest back in January. I had the money and I could have bought right then and there! But nope, I spent $30 on a bootleg copy of Binding Blade that doesn't even work anymore. sad

Then again, I already have Libra and Anna for Staff use (and Lissa if I have a slot open for her)

An even easier mode and more.

Oh, and the If 3DS bundle doesn't come with the game it seems.

Okay, see, casual mode seemed like a perfectly fine idea to ease some new players into the series, or not annoy veterans that prefer to pay attention to story as opposed to gameplay. Phoenix mode, however, is definitely way too far in the wrong direction.

I mean, sheesh, I get it, different strokes and all that. But does that mean games can't show even a little bit of teeth?

And like hell they'll ever introduce an Ironman mode. Or not having to go all the way back to the start menu and reload a safe instead of just selecting "restart chapter" on the menu.

I'd have suggested that Phoenix Mode at least make it so that the unit stays at zero health until a cleric staves them, or if they have a vulenary on hand to use.

Unless these guys think that the new victory conditions in black mode (and by extension their new defeat conditions) will be enough to need that mode.

Ah, well. If you don't like the mode, don't play in it. I'd say it's a perfect trade off for having many more save files.

...I would really like to know what the dialogue for that is going to be like.

Additionally, the limited number of times a weapon can be used has been abolished, so that means you won’t have to worry about keep buying the same weapon, or holding back on powerful or useful weapons

inb4 it turns out the char creation still has only 1 choice for skin color and only shades of red that are worse than what your party members can have.

Kayeka from Amsterdam (4 Score & 7 Years Ago)
#39472: May 12th 2015 at 6:05:31 AM

Oh, right, no more limits on weapons. I guess I'm kinda okay with that, but only if they nerf the particularly powerful weapons, and make silver weapons more expensive to reflect the fact you will only need one for a given character. That's quite a bit less busywork.

I can ignore the easier difficulty modes easily enough, so I really don't care about them so long as they still feature some solid upward difficulty as well. As for unlimited weapons, if they do it like Genealogy did it where weapons were more unique, and they are simply cutting out the repairs, I can dig that. They would definitely need to limit the amount of any given type of weapon, or things will just get ridiculous.

Looking at that Siliconera article (and being a massive geek when it comes to voice actors), I love that some of the revealed voice actors are big names. I mean, we have Katsuyuki Konishi (Kamina), Miyuki Sawashiro (Female Robin), Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager), Mamoru Miyano (Light Yagami), just to name a few.
