Well, here's one example of why the various continuities don't match. Unsurprisingly, it's related to Dragons.

In Elibe, Mage Dragons (or Demon Dragons as they're called in Japan) exist as a corrupted form of Divine Dragons who've had they're soul 'destroyed'. They have the power to create artificial war dragons. In Archanea, Mage Dragons are just a subspecies of Dragons are not special in anyway aside from having complete immunity to magic. They can't create war dragons and they're certainly not a corruption of Divine Dragons.

Then there are the Dragon Laguz. The various types of Dragon laguz behave far differently than the dragons of Archanea. There was no cataclysm that forced the Dragon Laguz to take human form. In fact, they do so of they're own free will and can do it without sealing their powers in stone form and there is no stigma attached to taking human form. For them, it's a completely normal thing to do.

Dear lord. Nintendo finally revealed the Zelda timeline, and now everyone is trying to turn Fire Emblem into the next one.

So, speaking of Different Dimensions, I've been grinding for Paragon manuals in Lost Bloodlines 3, and Cherche managed to get a Killer Axe from both villages. How will she be able to pick one... And KILL!

So, is it normal to be at chapter 6 without unlocking a single B support?

[up]You can deploy your whole army on every map, every unit has their own money, to trade items you have to pawn them and then have someone else buy them, all weapons have 50 uses and can be repaired for a fee, and IIRC a town can take 10 turns of being razed by a bandit.

Mage Dragon was "Magic Dragon" in the Japanese version. Demon Dragon came from the English version of Blazing Sword.

The Elibe Mage Dragon (Demon Dragon?) has nothing to do with the Akaneia ones aside from the name. It's closer to a Dark Dragon born from a Divine instead of a Earth. They were never intended to be the same thing. That's like saying "Mercenary in Jugdral is a whole different class than Mercenary in Akaneia, therefore Jugdral and Akaneia aren't in continuity with each other". It's really silly.

(Also, Idenn's soul being destoryed has nothing to do with the Demon Dragon process. They did that separately so they could control her)

The Ending Winter backstory fits a little too well as an explanation for the Akaneian dragon degenerating event IMO, which just kinda happened without explanation one day. It actually makes sense that the Akaneian dragons would see it as the "will of god" or whatever they justified it as, as they are likely unaware of what was fully going on in Elibe.

Laguz were always a problem in terms of harmonizing Tellius with the other settings. I think it's why most folks just lump Tellius way at the beginning, so their smelly Laguz and goddesses don't muck up with the rest of things, which mostly fits together. (It is worth noting that one of the Awakening info books said that Taguel might be descended from Laguz, and they are pretty similar to Manaketes in function.)

in path of radiance, who in the early game could best use a speed-wing?

oscar? boyd? soren?

Boyd. What Soren needs in PoR is Strength. Even then he probably won't be able to use the lategame tomes without a speed penalty. It's why Calill is actually quite a good unit, she can use tomes like Rexbolt and Meteor without being slowed.

Oscar's the speedy cavalier, so he'll be fine in that regard.

In regards to Genealogy- Watch who visits certain villages or kills certain enemies, since items can't be easily traded between units. The village just south of the castle DiMaggio guards in the prologue, for example, gives the Speed Ring in addition to gold, so Quan should really, REALLY be the one to visit it.

They have different transforming mechanics. They don't need stones, and can only stay in animal form for a certain number of turns, after which they need to recharge.

I personally prefer them, then having an expensive as hell stone.

Some of the laguz charge and consumption rates are really terrible, though. Like, Cats are completely awful because they just can't stay transformed for more than a single enemy phase without help from the Herons. Wolves and Tigers are hot on the Cats' heels for poor transformation, but at least all the Tigers in the game generally have really good stats to make up for it. Hawks and Ravens have the same rate as Wolves and Tigers, which makes the sole Raven pretty sketchy, even with Canto and flight, but both Hawks are really solid stat-wise. Herons are borderline overpowered, two of them because they don't need to fight, making their gauge the slowest to deteriorate with a form that allows them to refresh multiple units (the third refreshes four without needing to transform, but has much worse mobility than his siblings).

Yes, but then that requires the laguz to use their player phase turns for a paltry 15 gauge when they would rather be taking down those 2-range enemies that can just leech their gauge off like crazy. This, in addition to having no 2 range of their own, leaves most of them, especially the Cats, slow and unwieldy.

Contrast this to just being able to throw a beorc with an inventory full of 1~2 range weapons straight into the fray and murder all the enemies.

Any tips on saving the village in Paralogue 2? Sumia would likely do it best, but I don't want her so close to those archers and axes.

Also, why can't cavalry move again after doing an action in this game?

On Normal, Anna should have an easy time keeping the Barbarians from destroying the village while one of the Cavaliers or Fred come in to visit it.

And I'd assume Canternote  isn't present due to its removal in the remakes of Marth's games- Awakening has a lot of things in common with Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem, like reclassing and how Dark Mages/Sorcerers work.

even on hard mode, anna can handle herself and theres a fairly good chance she'll keep the village safe until you get there.

pussy foot around and yeah, it wont last, but unless the RNG strikes anna will hold the line and kill a fair number of enemies too.

That's not really a reason that makes any sense. Dark Magic didn't exist as a separate type of magic in Marht's games but here we are with dark magic being exclusive to dark mages. Noseferatu was a Light magic tome exclusive to females but again, here we are...

[up][up]Well, yeah, that's why I specified sending a unit with high movement in to save the village ASAP, just not to rush it thinking that Anna can't handle herself.

Must've had bad RNG luck, then - first time she died, second time a Barbarian snuck by her.
