Is it just me, or the reaction time in Embodyment of Scarlet Devil is much faster than other games? Like, either the bullets are going faster or the collision detection is a bit off.

A little of A, a little of B. And that's not factoring in the rank system. (Which doesn't exist in any game beyond PCB and even in that one it's heavily nerfed.)

The bullet speeds are sometimes faster, particularly with Aimed bullets (especially at high ranks) and ZUN didn't perfect his hitboxes until PCB onwards. Go on, try out the "Metal Fatigue" bullets from Patchouli on Marisa B.

So for anyone else this is applicable to, I found out Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet is on sale for PS 4 until the 29th for about $12.

Are you talking about converting to kanji? It's not nearly as bad as it looks, it's usually very accurate, not unlike what you see in the video.

Typewriting was another matter, though.

Edit: Writing names is annoying, tho.

Came across the previous generation's Hakurei shrine maiden in a (fan-made) comic for the first time (I knew of her for years now, but haven't seen her properly featured in any story beyond brief flashbacks). The comic in question: Shrine Maidens Brawl II by Warugaki.

Checking all the information that's available to me at the moment, I do have to wonder... What given names have been assigned to this character in some of her various appearances outside MUGEN?

[up][up] Darn youuuuuu Pokemanz!!! Thanks so much, Clarste! smile

That sure is a delicious-looking cob on the cover there! surprised[tup] (One of my favorite things when barbecuing!) Hmm, does anyone know if there could possibly be corn in Gensokyo? Could it have arrived in Japan before the Barrier? Ah well, I guess it doesn't matter, since Yukari could have imported it at any time, or this one (EDIT: and the ones in the chapter itself) could have specifically been imported by Sumi.

This is pretty great from a continuity standpoint! You got all the regular stalls already established previously in the mangas (Go Cirno! One day your ice will be popular!), plus the weird fuzzball thingy on display that I vaguey remember.

IT'S A RANDOM VILLAGER WITH EYES! HE'S A FREAK!

Hahaha evil grin what the ballz is up with that Creepy Marisa Panel evil grin Probably a reference to something. (Not that it will stop some obsessive fans from claiming this is proof that Gensokyo really is filled with bloodshed constantly, just like they've always been suspecting...)

Holy crap, there was a lot of very impressive art in this one! surprised [tup]

Haha, even at the happy end, when everyone else's stalls are now popular, Cirno still has no customers evil grin

This was a fun chapter, but it sure made me hungry waii

Apparently, corn's been known to Japan since 1579, but it only gained great popularity during the Meiji Restoration.

I see Batoto's ads have taken a turn toward Body Horror...

But as for the chapter itself, this was a good one. Aya Azuma's really good at drawing pained expressions like Marisa's on the bottom of page 18. Anyway, the "Hunger God" has now been exorcised and the path to the shrine is safe once more.

This chapter is so 'slice-of-life-y', it's actually quite relaxing. THE HUNGER GOD DEMANDS STARVATION! Out of curiosity, What is its untranslated name?

I also wonder, how do fairies get money to pay the stall fees?

Sorry to interrupt the discussion, but can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to beat Junko's last spellcard 'Pristine Bullet Hell'? Without bombs? The first two stages are easy but then stage 3 kicks in and I'm just flying blind. Tried to pacify it and found that it advances anyway. And I'd rather not reset my point device when I'm on the final attack of the final boss. Are there any safe spots or anything?

Oh yeah, easy mode btw. Pro Touhou player I am not. But this is mental even for Touhou. I have no idea how anyone beats this on lunatic.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...
