So in today's comic... you know, I suspected Soli keeps the brat around because she's, heh heh heh, into young boys like him, so I'm not surprised if Alamand tells the truth here.

No offense, but I think you've read everything completely wrong. As far as we can tell (and largely based on stuff the author has actually said), the whole thing is entirely one-sided and is basically just Alamand being ridiculous.

If you're joking, fine, whatever, but otherwise that's completely absurd. What the hell gave you the impression that she likes boys his age like that? It's always been him calling her his girlfriend and her being annoyed at it!

Yeah, ok...it's the internet, people on this site often have absurd views and it's so hard to read tone. I'm used to expecting potholes to Sarcasm Mode and Joking Mode, I guess. And I didn't find it funny because I was too busy being mildly amused at the reality of the situation instead to consider reversing it.

Anyway, no update today. But an artist's wrists are important, they must be given time to recover...

Wait. She (The author's a she, right?) is drawing the comics as she updates them?

Yes, it's a she. It's funny, I had a brief argument with a friend about this earlier today, but we found definitive proof. And I am also a bit confused, I thought she had them all lined up and ready. Maybe she had them done up to a certain point and finishes them before updating...

I don't know whether to be shocked at the turn of events, or mightily impressed that the artist created a fully realized, detailed, intriguing character and killed them in the span of four pages.

Soli fights dirty.

I'm confused. Did Soli get shot too?

Looks like it. She yelled "Don't shoot!" while shooting, then in the third panel stumbled as she got shot. You can see a red line near her arm. If you look closely, there are at least two soldiers, so even if she took out one, there would be others to return fire.

I just noticed that Soli wrapped her coat around her arm before shooting through the coat. I suppose this was so she could turn slowly like the soldier ordered, and still be able to aim and fire secretly.

Damn. First, Soli is playing Trying To Catch Me Fighting Dirty, and then the soldiers are Genre Savvy enough not to fall for it. All in all a very impressive showing. Oh, and Soli got shot.

Either they're genre savvy, or they just started to shoot back when Soli opened fire.

Remember Amen? These are not The Guards Must Be Crazy type soldiers.

And that, for once, is refreshing, and one of the reasons that I like this comic! The Meek is pretty good about doing its own thing and not falling into cliches.

I wasn't expecting him to return so soon.

So, while making its way through the sketch comic, The Meek suddenly had the honor of being the subject of a nice little io9 article. Nothing that we don't know already, but a good introduction to the series that seems to have given it a boost, such that that site went down for a time because enough people were interested.

That's a good article. I believe Penny Arcade has a similar reputation for crashing sites when they appear on its front page.

I like the horse's expressions in the sketch comics.
