Not just your average face and a caption: Unusual Ears

From the images there they don't count as this trope either. The girl in the circle is the clearest one so fat.

Some shows give people Cat Ears that match the person's hair color exactly and blend in with it perfectly but they are still only hair bands [1]◊[2]◊[3]◊[4]◊ (lacking in screenshots atm)

What about Chachamaru? (she is under the third type.) [5]◊[6]◊[7]◊[8][9]◊[10]◊ Personally I really like the last one.

Those don't look like ears at all. It looks like she's got some sort of tech put over her ears like a bluetooth head piece. It looks completely like fashion.

I think we should just go with Holo. She's not obviously wearing a hair band and hers don't look like fashion accessories. The last pic that has been posted is wearing an Alice band and really what's the point of pondering every single minute what if? The Holo pic is cute, high quality, and not focusing on anything else but her head. It's a good picture.

Well IMO someone wearing Cat Ears just for the hell of it is a very common thing in Anime (Cosplay mainly) and I just don't want this trope to be mistaken for it.

I think we have a clear consensus that the Holo pic is good. I don't see how it can be mistaken for hair bands when the trope name is Unusual Ears.

Still I am going to YKTTW a trope about Ear Headbands the examples seem to be confused about it too. (whenever I can get the YKTTW page to load on my phone) ... sorry.

Go ahead and YKTTW it. I just don't think the Holo pic looks like it and we do seem to have consensus for it.

Pointy Ears are a subtrope of Unusual Ears, not something totally different. Pointy ears are a type of unusual ears. Spock has unusual ears. (But a picture of an anime character pic fits the trope better.) I think the pic of Chisato is awesome, but, Holo was first, I just wanted to improve the mediocre old pic. (And Holo is right below the words UNUSUAL EARS, I don't think they will be mistaken for a headband. But, I am not an avid anime fan, who probably know best, totally defer.)

The other (imo) good image suggestions are on the Unusual Ears Image Links page, if you want to switch it knock yourself out, I doubt anyone is going to edit war it, they are all good.

A collage would be nice.

I like Raso's pic. it's not that often that you see droopy ears like that even if they are merely expressive.
