Finished this show yesterday. Called Greeb Beetle's shenanigans (was like...Weisman is a good writer, he wouldn't introduce a random character to fix problems out of the blue like that. Found it to be enjoyable throughout the end, especially as I could trace where things were going.
I also enjoyed the segment when Godfrey finally calls the Reach on their shit. Even the Sufficiently Advanced Alien Ambassador can't escape the NO SPIN ZONE.
Okay, I finished the show fairly recently.
I remember only one question I was going to ask.
Why is Kid Flash slower than Flash?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIt's implied something about Barry's family line simply makes them better speedsters. Wally may have duplicated the accident that made the Flash, but doesn't have the genes to go with it.
Ah.
And it really sucks as to that's why he died.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThere's also no speed force in Young Justice, so there was no way for Wally to pull a Came Back Strong.

\*sigh*
Yeah.....
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseAlso, is it just me, or did Harm really seem like an anime villain?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseActually, the reason why Wally was slower than Barry is because Barry did the experiment to give him superspeed under controlled conditions after studying Jay's notes on how he became a speedster for years. Wally read Barry's notes and did the experiment at age 12. (It was in the tie-in comics, FYI)
And since I haven't read the tie-in-comics, that means nothing to me.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIf there was no Speed Force (which is technically 'heaven'), would that mean Wally's essence was completed destroyed or is now endlessly wondering outside of the plane of existence?
Or am I looking too deep into this?
Bet you money Wally's "death" created the Speed Force.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Sidenote: how do we feel, in general, about the trend of tie-in media being used to grant additional explanation? Valid form of worldbuilding and exposition? Or lazy attempt to grab more of our money?
Depends on how it's done. I generally tend to consider tie-ins if the creators are involved like in YJ. While there is some characterization that I wish they included in the show, the plot and story can still be followed within itself.
Plus it's literally more content of an "early cancelled" show. You'd think more fans would be jumping at the chance of that.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Tie-ins are weird. It's rare that a show or movie doesn't just pretend they don't exist when writing plots, and sometimes (like in the Superman The Animated Series tie-ins) they even start feeling like their own separate-but-similar universe. I tend to treat them like an EU of sorts, unless they're explicitly filling in the gaps and continuing stories in ways that are also considered in the main series.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.IMO, that's what the 2013 YJ comics were trying to do with stuff that the production crew couldn't initially put in such as how the hell did Artemis get involved in the fight against Amazo before Green Arrow found her.
- shrugs* Err, sorry if I came off as a bit condescending about mentioning it in the tie-ins, it's just that they contain some details to answer questions.
Tie-ins are fine if they add flavor, or fill in some bits that viewers would be curious about. But if you have to read them to understand a plot point (EX the Star Wars The Clone Wars tie-in comic which explains how Hondo drugged Anakin and Obi-Wan that I have not read or been able to find) then it's an issue.
And then they make a third season so terrible that Greg Weisman disavows the series in disgust.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. If they do make a third season, it'll be without Greg Weisman's input, since he's currently working on Star Wars Rebels
Young Justice is inferior to Gargoyles anyway. How bad can it get.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I hope that it's coming back.
It's unlikely to be revived, but there's hope.
It will be revived as Young Justice Go!, with a superdeformed art-style, and all the heroes become Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist-standard "heroes".
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatMaybe a comic book continuation?
X4
I could listen to Crispin Freeman all day.
