Trip: Okay, I'm glad I didn't manage to scare you away like some of the others. I kinda wanted to show that Cathari Sarad/my metaself can fuck with dice rolls, since she's supposed to be the final boss if this session lasts that long. There is a way around it though, but I'm not going to say how. But anyway, are you respawning as the same mechanical class, or are you going to try something different?

So, what's the deal with joining? Just pick a race/class combo and go or is it more complicated than that?

[down][down]Yeah, I understood that part.

Surt: That entry looks good and workable. I mostly ask this so I have a rough idea what your character is capable of. Different classes/races have different perks and stuff. You'll be inserted somewhere into the world once I get around to making the next turn post. Then you do stuff/try to survive/figure out stuff about the massive political mess the world's in/get trolled by unicorns/the GM.

"Well, we can think about what we do first tomorrow. I have something to ask you."

"I may have come across the same laguz that you keep out with your wards. It happened after my run in with the shades in Imarat. She helped me regrow my limbs in exchange for service, but as i am very paranoid around anything that might look like a bad fever dream, i decided to approach democratically first."

"The point is, since i am not going to just follow a woman's every whim just because i now have an arm again, that i need a check up in case she used any tracking spells or other curses to keep me under her thumb. Do you know anyone who could help me with that?"

I recently came down with a cold but at least i can do someting now. I guess i'll take another week long break now, so sorry for not posting much.

Turn 61

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Considering how long this RTD has gone on for, it’s getting to the point where it’s difficult to keep track of what your character has already seen/known, even if you look back at previous posts. If anyone needs clarifications on their character’s surroundings/what they already know, or if anyone needs lore clarifications, feel free to ask with spoiler text or via PM. Also, if you’re a returning player who hasn’t played for a while in this session, I’ll need to reintroduce you to your surroundings, as you might not necessarily be in the same spot as when you last played.

Trip: (Free) You are a dragon warrior, though you are still a witch as well. You are roughly the size of a normal human, but you’re still a dragon girl. You can breath fire within a close area, which can ignite a few enemies at a time, and you can fly. In addition, you are somewhat adept at fighting with your claws, though you do come with a short-sword. You come with basic provisions and a bit of currency, and you still retain possession of the enclosed instructions booklet Cathy’s guidebook. Due to your change in class, you have lost all of your magical aptitude as a wizard, though it might be possible to regain it. For the moment, you have lost the trait Wizard’s Caution, but in its place, you gain the trait Skirmisher’s Momentum. Whenever you choose to make a melee attack, your intuition and reflexes are strong enough to allow you to make a second attack while putting yourself at minimal risk. However, because you got killed by a sheep/goat demon, you have also gained the trait Lamb’s Curse. You are now more vulnerable to attacks by sheep or goats.

You find yourself on a coastline facing what seems to be a house made out of dirt. Various patches of the grass far in front of you seem to have suffered burn marks. Further ahead, you see the beginnings of a forest, and a mountain lies further ahead. From the curving of the shoreline, you seem to be on some sort of island. On the grass ahead of you, you also see a wooden sign with "Here, Trip was owned by a Sheep" written in English. Now that you look at it, this seems to be the place you were teleported to before, and further ahead, you see a sign on the dirt house that designates it as your own.

As you look around the shore, you see several octarine portals arranged in a circular fashion to your left. They seem to be hovering next to a series of sign posts and above a large, circular platform jutting off the shore and into the ocean. Should you go over there to look, you’ll see that the signs are labeled the following, starting to your immediate left and working clockwise: "Harkad Capital," "Keran," "Sarastil," "Nivani," "Central Sfal," "Lugaz Lands," "Trasti," "Qal-Andu Capital," "Ixal," "Quasik-Kol," "Saa-Vuq-Atat," "North Spyrus," "Vaslem," "Nordland," "Poljjan," "Enri’s Bastion," "Kelos Frontier," "Northern Harkad Border," "Sakkur," "District-12," "Eni Fiana," and "Isk Stavlok."

Tabbune: (4) You try healing yourself once again in an attempt to cure your infection. As you apply the healing spell, your arm completely regrows underneath the greyish dust, most of it back to the ground. You also manage to heal yourself of some of the wounds from before. However, some of the grey matter still remains on your hand. You then exit the village while keeping an eye on the infection. After you walk for about a few minutes, the greyness seems to have consumed your arm up to your elbow once again, and it begins to disintegrate. As you walk, you continue to apply healing spells to yourself, but they can never seem to completely remove the curse. After traveling for about thirty minutes while doing this, you come across two elven bowmen on horses. Both of them seem to be wearing chainmail along with a sword belt. One of them wears a golden necklace featuring a flame pendant along with several jeweled rings. The other one seems to be wearing an iron helmet with a golden plume and a long spike on front. You also see him carrying a lance with him.

The one with the pendant addresses you, "Cathari’s blessings upon you traveler. I am Julian of House Rina, and this here is my loyal knight, Dominic. It seems you have stumbled upon one of the old villages. I don’t know where you are from, but it would be best not to wander about these lands alone. The many villages around here have been long since abandoned, and now they are filled with nothing but dark spirits. You would do best to cut that arm off before the curse spreads. Now then, would you like to accompany us back to the castle? I can ensure you’ll find yourself welcome there."

BRaHiAn1: (3) You go over to one of the laguz corpses and begin removing one of their grass skirts. After glancing at whatever genitalia is underneath, you pull the skirt over your charred robes and wear it for yourself. As you look around, you see a few of the war galleys lowering dugouts, each one containing a dragonborn soldier. You see about eight of them start rowing toward the shore.
TheSpacePhantom: (2) You try floating forward to stab at the ghosts, but whenever you get close to them, they simply back out of the way. And they just keep mocking you with that hideous trollface grin. Occasionally, they brush by you, but you aren’t quick enough to react. In addition to the coldness you felt before, their touch now feels as though the blonde witch is petting you as well, instead of merely ghost hands. Whenever you look to the ground, it feels as though it is melting, and the sky seems to be turning some sort of sickly octarine color. Although you aren’t sure whether you’re imagining, you seem to hear the ghosts laughing at you.
Surt: (3) You are a half-ogre, half-human berserker. You hit things hard and get angry sometimes. You come with a two-handed iron axe along with basic provisions. You currently don’t have any significant armor aside from some hide clothing. As a half-ogre, you are fairly large and somewhat stronk.

You find yourself on a coastline bordering a vast tropical rainforest. Based on the position of the sun, it seems to be around noon. Should you turn away from the mainland, you’ll see a small boat far into the sea. As far as you can see, there seems to be some sort of wooden tower far ahead to your right.

Philosopher: (3) Using the tiger summoning ritual listed in your book, you try to bring forth your undead tiger from before. A new summoning circle appears slightly to the right of the circle used for bringing forth the unicorn statue. After watching a similar display to the spell used for summoning the ghost, you see a tiger rise out from the new circle. However, it is not your old tiger, as this one is primarily white instead of orange. Additionally, this tiger doesn’t look like it’s bulky enough to support you and your rocket launcher. After that is done, the new tiger crawls up towards you, waiting for you to tell it to do something. Similar to when you brought forth the unicorn statue, you feel as though you don’t have the strength to conjure something else forth. Tyrone then says, "So what is this then?" You tell him what it is. "Huh, but you said they had orange and black stripes or something. Well, I’ll take your word for it. Now what?"
Jondanger 23: (4) The orc with the markings simply nods and then raises his right hand in a gesture for the others to keep quiet. The four of you then descend down the right stairway while trying to avoid making too much noise. Once you’re all down, the orc leader then gestures for you to circle behind the massive column along with the polearm wielder. Seeing no reason not to, you comply with this command and the polearm user follows you. Once you wrap around, you then walk over to the edge of the room and then edge over to the tunnel entrance. The other two orcs seem to be standing on the other side doing the same. You see them look into the tunnel and their eyes go wide. You hear the shovel user mouth, "What in the world?" before covering his mouth. When you look into the tunnel, you see something akin to a set of railroad tracks, running perpendicular to the tunnel, at the end. Judging by the level of technology these orcs seem to be at, they probably wouldn’t have the infrastructure to support such a project, nor would they have any reason to make a railway of any sort. Near the end of the large tunnel, you see a small, whitish orb, but it doesn’t seem to be glowing like many of the ones illuminating the tunnels. From your current position, the clinking noises seem to be somewhat louder.
Kayne: (5) Enri responds, "I believe I can help with that. I’ve never had the occasion where I needed to remove a tracking seal, but the principles shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. I use something like it so I may see from the eyes of my soldiers, as ordinary necromancy does not have that capability. Hold on just a minute." Enri steps up to you and places both his hands on your shoulders. Some sort of dark mist flows from his hands into your body. After about half a minute, you feel an immense, burning pain in your left foot. It then shatters and you see a whitish, glass-like ball of magical energy burst forth and hover between you and Enri. He then releases his right hand from your shoulder, takes the ball in it, and then shatters it completely. Following that, he heals your foot back with his specialist magic.

"Seems you were right in your suspicions. Now that this is destroyed, she shouldn’t be able to track you so easily. So you say you’ve encountered the witch in the land of the shades? Interesting. You would best stay away from those lands for now. She might have some influence in Vaslem as well. If you wish to reach Keran or the northern lands, you might wish to travel south to the twin domains of the orcs, and travel by sea. Of course, you may choose to travel west via Spyrus. Should you travel far in that direction, you’ll find the clans of the winged laguz. However, do be careful, as the elven clans and their unicorns occupy those lands as well. Do not travel through Sfal, rather reach the lands of the laguz by sea. As we are undead, we do not need to worry ourselves with such things as sleep, so we may begin our mission at once. Tell me where you wish to go to, so that I may conjure forth a portal."

Turn 62

BRaHiAn1: (1) Due to your strange obsession with finding a new pair of pants, you figure that asking the dragonborn soldiers for a pair would be the best way to go about this, despite the fact you’ve only seen them wear loincloth instead of anything resembling pants. You don’t particularly feel like waiting for them to come ashore, so you run back to the shoreline and begin to swim out to them. Even though you feel the ocean waves pushing you back, you keep on swimming out, until you’re at least ten yards or so from the nearest soldier. It simply glances over to you while rowing on. You hear it say, "We’ve got a shade swimming away from the shore. What should we do about this one?" Although you try to gesture to the dragonborn to pick you up, and even though it does row slightly toward you, the soldier’s dugout simply passes by. You then hear it say, "Understood commander. Retrieving the mage."

Just as the soldier begins to turn its watercraft around, you feel something tear at your right leg and pull you in that direction. You then see the shark from before pull you away, ram into another one of the dugouts and then swim past. After traveling for some distance after that, it finally chomps down on your leg and then swims off. It’s going to take a few minutes to reach one of the other dugouts or any of the war galleys in the distance.

Philosopher: (6) Now that you’ve fully assembled your small squadron, you decide to head out to the plains Tyrone had mentioned earlier. You motion for your two companions to follow you, and they seem to comply. After you walk for a few minutes, you manage to exit the forest and enter a somewhat hilly grassland. After walking forward to one of the hills, Tyrone turns to you and says, "Hold on just a sec, I’ll check over this one to see if there’s anything up ahead." The ghost then wades through the tall grass and climbs the hill just in front of you.

Then you hear a voice call out from behind you, "Oh, what have we here? A ghost, a zombie, and some sort of exotic pet." When you turn around, you see about three elven archers on horseback appear from out of the forest. Then as you look around, three more elves on horseback appear from behind some of the hills nearby. Your tiger seems to be shaking, and it tries huddling up near you for protection. "Well, I’d certainly like to cut up that little cat of yours to make an excellent fur coat! It would make an excellent sacrifice for the great Goddess. And as for undead, well, we’ve dealt with your kind before. Uhuhuhuhuhu…"

Tyrone then turns around and says, "How did they get behind us? There’s no way you could have done that without us seeing you first!"

Jondanger 23: (6) You step out from behind the wall and head into the tunnel to get a closer look at the white orb. As you approach, you hug the left side of the tunnel and tread carefully so as to minimize the noise from your steps. As you get closer, you notice that the white orb seems to have a wet exterior. Once you get about three-quarters the way through the tunnel, you hear the clinking noises start to speed up, though this time, you never hear two clinks overlap. You take a moment to examine the white orb. Something about its texture reminds you of an eyeball, though you can’t seem to find any sort of pupils on the thing.

All of a sudden, you hear the orc with the markings call to you, "Get back now!" As soon as he says, this, you see an orc wielding a crossbow run out from the left side of the tunnel exit and shoot at you before reaching the other side. The bolt lands perfectly into your right knee, causing you to keel over. Right after the orc runs out of your sight, you see a hand pop out from the right side of the exit and lob some sort of glowing reddish-orange rod at you. It arcs just over your head, but just a second later, you hear the thing explode just behind you. The initial blast sears the back of your legs right off along with your behind, and the shockwave sends you tumbling forward out of the tunnel. Just as you try to reorient yourself, you hear part of the tunnel collapse somewhere ahead of you.

From that same direction, you hear the polearm wielder say, "The hell was that?"

The shovel user says, "Let’s get out of here!"

The orc with the markings says, "Right, everyone back to the surface!" As you vaguely see three figures move somewhere in front of you, you then hear several cracking explosions right near you, and then you hear one of the orcs back through the tunnel scream. You try to raise yourself up to see, but your vision is a bit hazy at the moment from the combination of dirt in your eyes along with increasing amounts of smoke filling up the nearby area. As you feel around the area, your left arm finds your crossbow a few inches ahead of you. You then feel two pairs of arms grab you by the legs and start tugging you backwards.

Tabbune: (3) You ask the two elves if you can borrow something to cut your arm off with. Julian takes one of the shortswords strapped to his belt by the scabbard and then tosses it to you. It lands a little bit to your left, so you go over to pick it up. Holding the scabbard with your feet, you pull the blade out with your left arm. It has some sort of whitish-silver sheen, a bit lighter than aluminum. There also seem to be a few spiraling, vine-like motifs etched into the shortsword. Julian says, "You may keep that if you wish, I’ve got dozens of those things back at the castle."

You then use it to hack off your right arm, and you feel the harsh pain from each blow. Shortly after you crack through the bone, the whole thing comes off and lands on the ground. The whole things becomes consumed in the grey infection, and then disintegrates into ash. The dust also spreads to the grass just underneath it, and slowly you see the ground turn into some sort of dead zone. Due to the pain along with the fact you have been constantly healing yourself for the past thirty minutes or so, you cannot muster up another healing spell. Julian addresses you once again, "So, do you wish to come with us?"

Surt: (4) You begin moving toward the wooden tower in the distance. Although you have to cut through some of the foliage in the way, you have no problem reaching it. Eventually, you can see it clearly. It seems to be a relatively simple four-legged tower with a series of cross braces every so often. The top features a wooden, basket-like bottom and a pyramidal roof over it. Although a bit difficult to see, you see an orc archer standing watch up here. The side opposite you features a ladder-like structure along with a rope dangling from the side. The orc on top calls to you, "You there, where are you from? I saw you approach from the shore yet I saw no watercraft."

Somewhere to your left you hear someone yell, "The Raj is dead! The Raj is dead!" You see an orc shaman riding a tiger leap out from the vines to your left. Although he is mostly cloaked, you see a few scars in various places on his body. Although his tiger doesn’t look like it’s going to run out of energy anytime soon, the shaman looks like he’s out of breath.

"What?"

"The Rajah, his sons, his daughters, they took their heads and hung them off the outer walls. The entire capital has gone mad. Man, woman and child killing each other left and right. Everyone’s gone mad! They’ve murdered their king and placed a tyrant on the throne! So many of them are dead. And they were all laughing like they were possessed. The end of times is upon us. I don’t know why the gods have forsaken us, but now demons walk among us. I must spread the word." Before you can speak, the orc shaman bolts off on his tiger.

Trip: (3) Seeking to reform yourself, somehow, you walk through the portal next to the "District-12" sign. On the other side, you find yourself in a narrow alleyway between two stone brick walls. Right in front of you, you see a wall face rising some forty feet or so. Although the building and the wall face right next to you cover your field of view, it seems to be earlier in the day here than at your island. Going right leads right into an immediate dead end, so you head to your left.

Once you exit the alleyway, you immediately notice a large, obsidian tower some untold distance to your left. At the bottom of this, you also see a fairly large, black dome structure. Toward the opposite end of the city you’re in, you see a massive, cylindrical stone structure, which has a stone bridge connecting to the central tower. You also see smoke rising out of various buildings. Along various portions of the wall, you see several black banners depicting two white dragons holding up a bronze scepter with lettering underneath. You see dragonborn soldiers wandering all over the place, most of them wielding spears and circular shields. They only seem to be wearing helmets and loincloth. A few of them are wielding crossbows instead. Some of the dragonborn also seem to be ferrying around various goods either by hand or in wooden wagons. In the midst of them, you also see a few bald humanoids whose mouths ahve been replaced with tentacle-like appendages. Instead of the wearing almost nothing like the dragonborn, they are donned in full cloaks and carry staffs with them.

Two dragonborn spearmen then approach you. One of them says, "Pardon us, but command says you’re not on our lists nor are you a natural citizen. We’re going to have to bring you to the local headquarters and take you in for questioning. If command thinks you check in, you’ll be free to go, but until then you’ll have to be on watch. If you try to resist, we’ll have no choice but to subdue you." As this is going on, you see around five more dragonborn soldiers surround you, three of them wielding crossbows. You also see one of the cthuloids step towards you. Upon a closer inspection, the dragonborn seem to be wearing black rings of some sort.

TheSpacePhantom: (6,2) Using your flight abilities that you may or may not have acquired from your amulet, you try making your escape from the ghosts while dodging them as they come near.    "KYAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"    You fly off in some arbitrary direction. Still, the ghosts seem hot on your trail, and they nearly grab you by the legs on more than one occasion. Although you try to keep your gaze forward, you cannot help but keep turning back because of the ghost’s incessant laughter. Every time you look back, you see the blonde witch’s hideous, perverted trollface grin.

After about an hour of fleeing, you no longer hear the hideous cackling of the witch in your ears, and when you turn around they no longer seem to be present. You also notice that the sky seems to have cleared up, though you aren’t sure whether it had cleared up before. As you look around, you find yourself overlooking a large wheat farm, with the main building straight ahead of you. It seems to have a small, rectangular cobblestone wall which opens on the side opposite you. You see some smoke coming out of main house. Seeing that it’s probably occupied, you lower yourself to the ground and begin approaching it, and then circle around the left. On a closer examination, the house seems to be made primarily out of stone with a few wooden supports and cross-braces every so often.

As soon as you go around the back corner, you see a unicorn head smiling at you.    "KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"    Out of instinct, you pull out your dagger and stab at the thing repeatedly. Once that’s said and done, the laughter seems to stop. After a few seconds of examining your surroundings, you see a kobold legionary lying on the ground dead in front of you, with many deep stab wounds. You also see about six other kobolds standing around: three archers, one other legionary, a skirmisher, and a mage. The mage screams in panic and then launches three force bolts toward you in quick succession, thinking quickly, you dash toward one of the archers and try disarming him before he can attack, but the archer simply shifts out of the way. The legionary and skirmisher move up to engage you, and the three archers ready their bows. You try dashing out of the way, but two of the arrows skewer through your chest. The mage says, "He killed Shamal! He’s one of them!"

The legionary says, "We ain’t home just yet." Upon a closer inspection, you notice that several of the kobolds already have some fairly sizable wounds, judging by the amount of cloth wrapped around various parts of their bodies. One of the other archers seems to have half of his face burnt off.
