kinda sad this protag seems to be silent too, though i cant be bothered too much by that if they're gonna give tons of dialogue choices. he's got a very cool design and power, its just a shame that we would never be able to play his class in classic mode.

but yus i will probably be getting this game, dlc be damned.

I'll probably get it when it comes down in price and/or goes on sale in the eshop. Not getting the DLC, though.

I'd rather have a voiced protagonist than a silent one. Isn't that what Classic Mode is for?

And before you say "It's to project your personality onto the main Story Character", then why can't I pick the gender of the main character? Yeah, I'm a guy, but the fact that the game has that automatically chosen for me doesn't make me automatically connect. I didn't get to choose that gender, I was stuck with it.

I just set myself up a Sovereign named Elodie. At least with us she has better odds of survival or rezzing in case something smacks her senseless.

Also good grief the Fire Arms buff bug is awesome. Elodie is now destroyer of worlds with massive STR.

i think its less to project yourself onto the character and more to provide more than one interpretation of his character; thats the way the choices in games like devil survivor work, so i assume thats what they were going for in untold.

in millenium girl, im at the 5th floor and i just went in with the HQ's 2nd healing item enabled, so i heal tp after every turn. and then at the halfway point of the floor i make sure not to enter an FOE room until im at green again, and the encounter turns out to be 2 ice rabbits, and 2 bug things (the ones who hit hard and in a column). things went badly fairly quickly when legion thrust lowered simons health just enough and the bugs got to move before he could cast salve, so he died...

and then i had to spend the next turn making the highlander cast revive and hope no one else dies. it worked somehow, with everyone being in the red but no one dead, and then i finished off the 2nd bug just before it could move and simon was able to heal everyone...

and thanks to the rabbits being kinda weak i defended every turn until all my TP returned. any damage done was healed by the act of guarding cuz of frederica.

that was...incredibly satisfying ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

and useful. i was going through tp way too fast for where i was at on the floor.

btw, was the 4 floor stratum thing started eo2 onwards, or is the unusual number of floors a storymode quirk?

Four floor Stratum? Stratums have always been five floors, except in EO 4, where they're three due to there being several side dungeons.

eh? eo3 at least had 4 floors per stratum until the 6th stratum, which had 5. i just checked.

2nd stratum begins on floor 5, 3rd on floor 9, 4th on floor 13 and 5 at 17, with stratum 6 covering 21 to 25

Oh, EO 3 is the exception, then.

So are Persona Q and EMD, but those can be somewhat excused by not being pure EO games.

I actually really like how the enemy models are animated. Though that may just be me grasping at straws and waiting to see how the game turns out.

I just finished EO4 the other day and it was a ton of fun, I'm pretty excited for Knight of Fafnir which I heard is coming out in the summer here in America. I'd get Millennium Girl but I'm low on cash right now (my younger brother has a copy on his 3DS but he hasn't finished it yet). I ended up using a sort of Link party with a Landshark, Dancer, Imperial, Medic and Runemaster.

I'm kinda thinking of trying out EO3 since I heard it's the best in the series and I can use a pink-haired Monk.

See if you can find a copy of EO3 on Amazon (that's about $30 or under) because I'm looking at the website right now, and it's looking pretty cheap.

Two good things about EO2U is that if you have room on your SD card, you can use multiple save files. Another good thing is that it was announced for Europe recently.

Sometime in the fall this year. Both EMD and EO2U will be localized by NISA, in case that would influence your purchase.

As interesting as that is, watching the stream live is going up against watching Tom Fawkes, Nakateleeli, and Proton Jon doing their own streams. I'll just have to catch the recording.

It was just a small showing of Floor 1, with the streamer wiping to a Crawler and a Ragelope.

...The guy was crazy enough to challenge a FOE? Isn't he supposed to know enough to not be that stupid?

I don't see how an official stream demonstrating an important part of the game is stupid.

It was the end of the Stream and he decided to end it with a suicidal FOE encounter at the chat's request.

That... Makes way too much sense, actually.

He was planning on ending the stream there, I thought.

Might as well do it showing that FOE are not to be messed with.

I remember he used a Beast (Bear) named Teddie, a War Magus named Yukiko, a Hexer named 2spooky5u, a Dark Hunter named Bayojetta, and a Protector named Tankatha.

There were some other party members too, I think, but those names stand out in my mind.
