So what day does Reconguista begin airing, and who's carrying it? CR?
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Reconquista? What's that?
Gundam: Reconguista in G, a new Gundam show that's coming out. Directed by Tomino, no less. (Personally, I'm looking forward to Gundam Build Fighters Try more.)
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I still need to get caught up with Build Fighters, but I'm rewatching JJBA with a friend atm.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.G-Reco is starting October 2nd, apparently.
Not sure who, if anyone, is carrying it on the English-speaking side.
Did you know that you can watch Build Fighters subbed legally on Gundam.info?

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Isn't that region-locked?
Only tried it once but it didn't let me view anything on the grounds of No Export for You.

@RJ Savoy
If the presence of a couple of competent female pilots is the only thing you need to prove that the show isn't misogynistic, that's a fairly low bar to pass. Fact is that no woman in the show, regardless of apparent competency, ever breaks out of the victim role. Hell, the only female character in the show to both a) possess agency, and b) be defined by something other than her relationship to a male character, is Emma. And even that proves too good to last.
I really most of the relationships involving female characters are not THAT bad. I would say a lot of them could be gender flipped and nothing changes. Especially Reccoa who is literally just an attention whore.
The fact they are acceptable singly (which is itself arguable) does not make them acceptable in aggregate. That's kind of how sexism works; as Ambar is fond of saying, nothing is sexist in isolation. It's when you step back and realize not a single female character in the work serves as anything more than an adjunct to a male that you realize there's a problem.
Nous restons ici.Night summed up my attitude pretty well, but just to throw another five cents in, there's nothing wrong with any characterization for a female character. Victim, villain, emotional twit, these are all acceptable in and of themselves, just as they would be for male characters. Where we start running into problems is when every single female character (or every black character or every gay character for that matter) falls into one of those negative categories.
I remember a similar discussion I was having with somebody who was trying to argue that there was nothing wrong with the "happy black slave" trope. Again, in isolation, no. There probably were some people who found a way to enjoy there position, whatever it might have been. When it becomes an issue—as it did in plenty of Lost Cause literature—is when every slave falls into that category and/or the ones who don't fall into it are portrayed as villains.

Hey, got a question for the Correct Century buffs.
What kind of power source does the Turn X run on?
According to MAHQ:
Incidentally, it also says the Turn A operates on a similar though far less powerful reactor. (Roughly a third of the power.)
Nous restons ici.Nonsense!
It runs on the power of its mighty Mustache!
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Oh, I'm quite sure it actually runs on nonsensoleum, and also it's been implied it has a singularity power core in some sources, meaning that the Turn A was built by Romulans from Star Trek.

Nous restons ici.I seem to recall that someone once posted a Japanese technical readout in this very thread that said the Turn A is powered by a degeneracy reactor, using the exact same expression (縮退炉) as Gunbuster.
You know, even if you are wrong, it makes sense.
CC tech runs on magic and handwaves. That's not a bad thing — it's just that Turn A has no interest in playing the Minovsky Physics game, so it doesn't bother getting into those technical details. The closest we get to an answer is "nanomachines, now stop asking".

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Allow me to repurpose my question and get to the heart of the matter.
If the Turn X got excavated in the After War timeline and Tiffa led Garrod to it instead of X Gundam, would they be able to make it go?
No reason to believe it wouldn't just turn on, like the Turn A. There's no evidence the Moonrace's suits are any less recovered tech than those being used on Earth.
Nous restons ici.Cool.
Turn X Turn, Turn X Turn, Tuuuuuurn X~
Oh god I'm gonna have that song stuck in my head for a week again aren't I.
but HOW?
The AEUG is dedicated to removing the Titans as an organization. They were originally a political party trying to bring them down through lobbying in the Federation assembly (and they still do that, though it isn't shown often), but they started a military resistance after the 30 Bunch massacre. They aren't explicitly anti-Federation, just anti-Titans.
As for what they're doing on Earth, what's going on is that after their attempt to capture Jaburo failed, the AEUG personnel are kind of stuck. They're hanging out with Karaba (pretty much the Earthside counterpart to the AEUG: the organizations started independently but cooperate due to their shared objectives) for lack of anything better to do while planetside. The visit to Hong Kong is just to gather supplies and establish good relations with Luio Company, a powerful conglomerate that is sympathetic to their cause but not officially allied with them.
