Given he didn't clarify that Gamestop was the only one saying it, it warranted a double posting. The guy saying if thats true didn't click the link.

Yes I did actually. I was just stating my my reaction if it the case that it got scrapped. I'm taking it with a pinch with salt.

What pinch of salt? An official "no" means, quite clearly, no. If there were even a chance this was true, Sony would do the "we do not comment". thing.

I was refering to the Gamestop annoucement, not Sony's. Your probably right, I don't see what the issue is.

According to update on Kotaku, it was mistake from Gamestop. Game isn't cancelled, but since the release date isn't known they decided to remove the game until it's release date is announced.

You know, given Team ICO's track record, I highly doubt a "one of them dies" type ending.

Yeah, I don't get where that comes from. Neither Ico nor Yorda dies, and Wander only kinda died in SOTC (and Agro even turned out to be alive after appearing to die).

Yoshida admits "scrapping and rebuilding" The Last Guardian Doing It for the Art is why it's taking so much time, basically. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, at least the "Ueda left" bit has been cleared up. That fills me with confidence once more. : )

Phew. That's a relief to hear.

You don't say. The vendor at my video game shop told me it was canceled and that Ueda left. I'm glad to see it's not quite true.

So is any of the game still the same, d'you think?

So weird that this game was announced at the start of this console generation, and doesn't look like it's coming out until its end.

Well, I read the article and answered my own question. According to the article, it's not that everything has been scrapped, it's just that they're tossing out things as they go and seem to be having false starts.

^^ It was announced at E3 2009. Thats four years in to the generation.

Development began 5 years ago.

Sony says that the game is progressing slowly.

Read between the lines there - this is one fucked up project. They've already had to scrap it and start over a la Duke Nukem Forever.

I mean, this paragraph says it all:

I don't see anyone saying they've "scrapped the whole thing," just that things were scrapped. That does not imply the entire project. I think that's reading a bit too far between the lines.
