I know there's a lot of Tou Hou avatars, but this Tou Hou theme I speak of is from a specific (and recent) game, and in the light of recent discussion there seems to be a small number of tropers yoinking the character portraits for avatar use.
Strangely, I like the game in question waaaay more than the "proper" Tou Hou titles, mainly because of the new character artwork.
Ah, but this is a sub-theme.

I've noticed that while there might be a Broken Fanbase, Battletech doesn't suffer necessarily from inter-media hate.
This may have to do with all the games before Mechwarrior 4 being both excellent (well, MW 4 was still pretty good, but it threw the sim aspect right out the window) and universe-correct.
