So I don't have to worry about this for a while but I'm kind of torn right now when it comes to Nocturne. I don't feel like playing through the same game six times so I'm probably just going to get the True Demon and Freedom endings. Which one should I go for first? I'm tempted to do True Demon because it would be nice to get it out of the way but it's also the hardest.

I just went for True Demon because it had the most content. Lucifer wasn't that bad, stupid high resistances aside.

[up][up]Do what I did and go for both. Make two separate saves during the Point of No Return (that is to say, before entering the Tower of Kagutsuchi, beat Metatron then make two saves before talking to Lucifer in the deepest part of the Labyrinth) and you should be able to take it on just fine.

That didn't occur to me. That's actually a pretty good idea since the story paths for both are basically the same until you complete the Labyrinth of Amala. Even so I'm not really that interested in getting the other four endings. On top of there being too many I hate all the Reasons.

Good call. I watched the reason endings on youtube and they're basically all the same ending. An ending which sucks I might add.

It's not even that I dislike the endings themselves. I just dislike all the Reasons because I think the worlds they'd create would be terrible.

edit: And Chiaki's gone native. Fuck.

Ah, good old Shin Megami Tensei, where succumbing to demons and finding God are equally bad, and former friends will gladly kill you just for daring to believe something different from them.

Oh, and there was something about punching out gods too...

Freedom's relatively nice, at least.

I think Chiaki has the worst reason. The worlds Isamu and Hikawa want to make would be terrible, but they at least have a tiny kernel of a point hidden in there. Chiaki though... nothing she says makes any kind of sense at all.

I don't really understand Isamu's, to be honest.

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."

I actually think Hikawa's reason is the best although it's not something I'd personally fight for. I'd probably just make an entirely different reason if I was in this situation.

[up]The basic idea seems to be that everyone will live in their own separate world(universe?) from one another.

Their worldviews aren't completely based on their experiences from the Vortex World. Hikawa not included since he had his thought out long before it.

Chiaki's implied to be a rich girl on earth, so she's likely used to having her way. The Vortex World however makes her old way of life meaningless and to get back that sense of status she had Chiaki sought a strength hierarchy.

And Isamu had Demi-Fiend doing things for him like looking for Yuko even before the Conception, so his hypocrisy was the byproduct of him not really changing himself to fit his apathetic beliefs of total isolation where one is a God of their own world.

[up]x6 And not to mention, instead of being able to reason with your friends or just otherwise incapacitate them, you instead have to murder them. Because as we all know, the best way to set an example of how to maintain a nuetral, civilized society is to kill anyone who stands in your way regardless of how much they may have meant to you.

Still, if you there's no other way, then there's only one thing you can do: Go through their clothes and look for loose change.

The Demi-Fiend sought Freedom and in a world of freedom one can kill as one pleases to obtain ones goals or wishes. You can even bend them to your will. Like he does with Kagutsuchi at the end.

[up][up]To be fair his friends try to kill him if he stands in their way. You bring them back anyway if you do the Freedom ending.

Well everyone is brought back. Even Hijiri which doesn't really make sense since his soul was meant to go on to the next world and watch its conception and almost the conclusion before being shanked.

They get increasingly badass as you progress in terms of mythological reputation as you progress, too- You start off against Matador, who is terrifying in this series but is quite minor outside of it, then Daisoujou, then Hell Biker/Hell's Angel, then suddenly jump to the Four Horsemen and it's all downhill for you from there.

I actually didn't know about this one. I thought I knew all the Fiends in this game.

On that note fuck bosses that can cancel -kaja and -unda spells.

Pulse: Makes me wish Trauma Center, the "other" non-rpg series Atlus does, would get such numbers as well.

Seriously though, it's likely at least part of the reason why Catherine got such high numbers was because of it being advertised as being made by the Persona team.

[up]Which one?

Hell Biker. I already fought Matador, Daisoujou, and Dante. I knew about those three. I also know the Four Riders, Trumpeter, and Mother Harlot are going to fight me later. I figured the next Fiend was David or something since he appeared in SMT 1 and 4.

the thing about cancel bosses is that they do waste press turns doing it.

if you have a way to recharge mp, then its actually a pretty nice way to exploit their ai.

The secret to the Dekaja and Dekunda Fiends is that 90% of the time they can only use one of the two skills. I think the only demon that can use both skills is Trumpeter, the final Fiend.

Hell Biker technically has Dekaja too. His Force attack removes -kaja effects.

So I think I'm going to wait until after the next dungeon or two before I challenge the Second Kalpa. I died three times and I wasn't even halfway done.
