I felt guilty on both paths even if I thought Law had the better outcome.

Both the Law and Chaos endings are genocides this time, though. Like, even more directly than usual.

Chaos at least has a potential better outcome once the Fairies and Japanese Gods are restored, and of course Minako becoming Ishtar to restore nature to Tokyo.

But those are optional.

Plus world of strength. They blew their first chance, now it's time for the inevitable consequences.

EDIT: So I just met Mizar and his spawn. I utterly crushed them. My first time through I had spawn covering the map and barely scratched out a win. This time my main character acted as a bridge for Jungo to reach the one that's supposed to demonstrate Mizar's growth and division scheme (True Phantasm rules), and he one rounded the enemy team before it took its action. The rest of the battle went similarly well; only one of the Mizars survived meeting my party.

Movement skills are really, really useful. Wonder if De Su 1's bullshit escort missions are so bad when you're using Devil Speed and Bind as often as the AI likes to.

Say, was it ever explained how Lilith got past Minotaur and Medusa?

I assume because she's more powerful than both of them.

Other ideas are, (1) because she's a badass, (2) she can probably teleport, and (3) because neither of them know Gun spells.

Same way other weaker demons get by him. By not going through the hall of hte minotaur. I mean there's undeground rivers pouring water down below afterall and Lilith can fly.

and i think medusa was on liliths side; medusa was going on about you being dogs of tayama, and lilith is very pro demon so...

i wonder if abby secretly activated the terminal to allow lilith in. or are they actually not connected beyond being identical?

Not really. The Ashura-Kai make it their job to antagonize tons of people so Medusa would naturally dislike them. Plus she has no interest in demons, only humans.

Actual, Medusa has several Gun spells, including her unique move, Snake's Fangs.

Lilith probably used the terminal. The Ginza one isn't guarded so she could just take it to the Sky Terminal and fly up through Naraku.

Speaking of Lilith was she acting on Hikaru's orders or did she just want to cause chaos in Mikado because she thought it would be fun?

The terminal wasn't activated until after the Samurai used it.

She did it because it's what the people wanted. They wished for her, and she appeared. So she gave the Casualries the knowledge they wanted.

Did she? The way I interpreted things the Casualries were incapable of even realizing how screwed up everything was until she appeared.

Yes really. The discontent of the Casualries was already building before she appeared. Once it was great enough she heeded their call and appeared before them, granting them what they wanted.

I wish more had been done with Luxuror-Casusalry relations. The worst we actually see the Luxurors do is act snooty. There was Navarre's little plot, but even Walter, the most anti-Luxuror character in the cast, said that was extreme even for them.

It is weird that the narrative ultimately considers him a good guy.

Where are you getting that from?

No seriously, SMT 4 has a vertical difficulty curve until the second boss. Get yourself some ice magic and fire resistance.

Let's put it like this: by the time you reach the first boss, you're likely to have one, maybe two single-strike, medium-damage moves.

The boss has a multiple-strike, heavy-damage move. That's how tough he is.
