"HUH? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON OVER THERE?" The robot said, distracted from the noise in the recycling chamber, suddenly, something grabbed at his neck. The energon connecting Narumi's two cuffs. "Let me out, or I swear, I will make you suffer..." Narumi said in a threatening tone. "OR WHAT? THIS IS BARELY AFFECTING ME MUCH." The robot said. "What if I were to... tighten the deal." Narumi said as he tighten his grip on the robot. "I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE GETTING AT?" The robot said. "...Alright... Can you let me off my chains then?" Narumi said, disappointing. "HM... HOW ABOUT..." The robot was about to hit Narumi again with the stick, however... "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Oooo" The robot sounded like he ran out of batteries, but one look at the robot's neck seems to convince Narumi other wise. The robot's neck was crushed so hard, that his head fell over at the slightest nudge. The key to unlocking Narumi's cuffs fell to his feet. "... What?" Narumi said.

"He should be in the lower levels of the complex, Ma'am," Air Raid replied. He reached up to one of his enormous shoulders and retrieved a trio of small baton-like objects. "Like I said, Optimus, I was under the impression that it would be just the three of you; I only have your axe and Bumblebee and Sideswipe's energon swords. The rest of you will have to find other weapons as you go."

"You certainly took your sweet time, Air Raid!" Sideswipe sneered in a half-joking manner.

Air Raid shrugged amicably. "What can I say? I like to make a dramatic entrance."

The Aerialbot handed these weapons to their respective owners, then darted over to a large grate in one corner of the room. Air Raid rose into the air on small pillars of flame, lifting the heavy metal with ease. "Here, take the service ducts; they should lead you into the prison's lower levels."

Ravage dropped onto all fours, stretching in relief. It had been a pain to hobble about like that on his hind legs...

Kirby heard Jorge and shook his head. "Boyo..."

"Translation: No it isn't. I haven't helped since I got here. I distracted Narumi from fighting the sharks, I got stung by that bug, and I couldn't help here. I... Useless..."

"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior Val

Air Raid waved a flippant hand. "Well, somebody's gotta throw the 'Cons off the scent. I'll lead 'em through the far door, in the opposite direction; should give you plenty of time to—"

Just then a loud hammering came at the door. "Open up, I say! OPEN UP!!!"

The Aerialbot stifled a curse, then began to speak rather loudly. "Quick, guys, through the door! I'll hold them off!!!" He then frantically waved the others over to the service ducts.

Hahli quickly dove through the duct.

"Shit," Jorge cursed. The Spartan was about to head into the duct, but he saw Kirby angsting. Jorge kneeled down and picked up the star warrior.

"No time, little one! We've gotta go!"

And he entered the duct.

Gordon was tempted to just stay behind and hold them off with the other robot. After all, dying was better then living your worst nightmare, right?

He rapidly found himself pushed through a vent.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

-There is a skittering, clanging noise from above, and the thing comes down to stand in front of Air Raid, hunched over and observing every detail around it, the head moving robotically-

"Whoa! I don't know what the Pit you are, mister, but you aren't any model of 'Con I've ever seen. Either way, get out the way!"

And with that Air Raid, still holding the grate up, gave Saren a swift kick in the face with one of his exhaust-spewing rocket feet. The impact sent the turian into the vent.

Ravage shook his head in annoyance at the actions of his supposed "ally." When this was over, he would have to do something about Saren...

"Bring in the heavy torch!" one of the Decepticons outside roared. "We'll cut the slagging thing down!"

Shaking himself out of this introspection, Ravage dove into the service duct; Sideswipe and Bumblebee followed him a moment later. The jaguar was surprised at how spacious these ducts were; even with the entire group jammed in like this, there was still plenty of room to stand up...except for himself, of course. The duct extended for roughly forty meters straight ahead, then plunged straight downward; at present, however, their progress was blocked by a large device reminiscent of a plunger or a pipe snake, which seemed to be performing maintenance on the vertical sections of the shaft.

Optimus leapt down into the vent, casting his blue gaze about the group. "Is everyone inside?"

"I believe so, Turaga Prime," said Hahli, flicking on her mask-mounted searchlight.

Optimus placed a gentle hand on Hahli's shoulder with a resigned sigh. "I'm not the Prime, ma'am, Zeta is. I'm just a soldier; I'm not worthy of the title."

Ravage cocked his head to one side. This was rather different behaviour compared to the Optimus Prime from his own reality; whereas the Optimus from Ravage's universe had readily accepted the responsibility of leadership, this one seemed reluctant to do so. Why?

"Oh," said Hahli, "I'm sorry..."

"It's alright; you didn't know. The Autobots need Zeta Prime's guidance, or the war will be lost."

A low hiss and a bubbling noise came from the direction of the door, and Air Raid, seeing that everyone was inside, lowered the grate to the floor. "Good luck."

Seconds later the entire duct shook as a deafening CLANG resounded throughout the room; then Ravage heard Air Raid grunt in pain.

"Where are they?!"

"Where are who?" the Aerialbot spat in defiance. His words were followed almost immediately afterward by a pained scream, and then Air Raid crashed onto the grate in a heap. Thanks to the positioning of the grate's slats, those inside the duct could see Air Raid and he could see them, but the Decepticons saw nothing.

"Take him to Soundwave!"

The last glimpse Ravage caught of their rescuer was Air Raid's horrified face as the Decepticons dragged him out of sight.

"Damn," Jorge cursed as the Decepticons took Air Raid away. "He just saved our arses. Now, Optimus, right? Where do you think Zeta Prime is being held?"

-The thing skitters on the top of the vent, mute, an omnitool springing into operation on its wrist; it scans the 'formers, its expression somewhere between a haughty disdain and curiosity; unnoticed by Ravage, a snarl of red energy worms its way through his systems-

Ravage shuddered briefly, the energy turning purple; for the briefest of seconds, he could have sworn a scowling, angular face had flashed before his eyes for the briefest of nanokliks. The jaguar shook his head to clear it; what in the name of Primus was that?

Bumblebee stared incredulously at Jorge. "That's it? You're just gonna leave him here?! Slag no! Optimus, we've gotta help him!"

The little yellow Autobot dashed towards the grate, only for Sideswipe to restrain him. "Easy, Bumblebee!"

Optimus glanced back at Bumblebee, remorse evident in spite of his featureless mouthplate. "It's too great a risk right now, unarmed as we all are. But I promise you, Bumblebee..."

With that, the acting leader of the Autobots held up the tiny baton which Air Raid had given him. In less than a second, it extended and unfolded into an enormous, softly-glowing battleaxe, and he whirled on the cleaning drone which blocked their progress.

The enormous machine came apart in two equal pieces, tumbling down the shaft will a dull crash.

"We'll come back for Air Raid as soon as we can. As for Zeta Prime's location, we aren't certain; all we know for sure is that, as our leader, he should be held in the deepest, most heavily defended areas of the prison."

That voice echoed in the head of the thing which had been Saren. it could discern a contemptuous smirk to the speaker's tone.

"Yes, Nazara, continue to broadcast your presence like a Primus-forsaken astral lighthouse; it will make your pathetic defiance much more satisfying when I rip the location of your actual body from that deluded husk you call a puppet. Don't forget that I am the master here, alien."

   "You Will Know Otherwise, Megatronus. You Are Inferior, And You Are Trapped Here. You Will Not Win Even If You Do Escape. This Exchange Is Over."

You and your kin may have deluded yourselves into believing that you have attained a technological apotheosis by subsuming your organic components within the mechanical, but an organic nothing playing at being its betters is still nothing. You also fail to reckon with my will; yours may control the mechanisms which govern this puppet, but the Dark Energon now coursing through his routers is mine to command. How well shall he perform, I wonder, if I force Saren into withdrawal?"

   "I fail to find your posturing amusing, Megatronus. Knowing what my kind are will not help you, for the knowledge we have is greater than yours. The frequency to control the so-called Dark Energon is simple, and the substance itself is malleable. You are not the only one who has control here, as I will soon demonstrate."

"Your prattle begins to bore me, putrid organic. We will continue this conversation later. Stalker! Ready the Spark Annihilation Chamber; you will have visitors shortly."

With that, Megatron's presence withdrew from Saren's head.

Optimus leapt down the shaft, followed moments later by Sideswipe, Bumblebee and a reluctant Ravage. They landed atop the remains of the cleaning machine a few moments later, finding themselves in a low-ceilinged area filled with narrow corridors and numerous pillars. Yellow steam and the stench of sulfur hung heavily on the air.

"What is this place?" Bumblebee wondered, holding a hand over his olfactory sensors.

"Air Raid said these were service ducts," Sideswipe began, only to be cut off by a wail emanating from further inside.
