Spriggan kept up the pace, porting his silenced G36K.
Red Mage, not watching where he is going, trips into Mason's trap and explodes into horrible little bits.
Kimimaro saw Red Mage's little mishap, flinched, remembered what Narumi had told him about the Common Room, and facepalmed at his teammate's moment of fatal klutziness.

"I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!"After the intense battle against the powerful- yet oddly singular- foe, Lux enjoyed the bit of respite that was afforded. The group was able to walk somewhere for once, instead of the headlong dash for their lives that was the norm until this point.
...And then one of the group violently exploded.
Lux froze in place and shielded herself, suddenly very apprehensive. "Hey guys... could someone tell me what that was?" In her experience, sudden explosions from nowhere meant traps, though she was more used to the slowly-painfully-poisoned variety instead of the sudden-fiery-death variety, but sudden fiery death seemed to be what was on the menu for the entirety of this challenge so far. She didn't want to risk hitting another one of these traps that to her mind could now be anywhere.
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?"Mason needs a little talk after this."
Spriggan lead the group in the vanguard, assuming the pointman role. He told Lux. "Must be an anti-personnel trap."

"Would I be able to see one? What would I be looking for?" She let her shield fade, but refused to move until she got a response.
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?"They seen to be deployed at the back, but I can show you a sample once we get back."
Lux hesitated a moment more. Spriggan did not seem to understand what she was getting at. "I mean can I have a description now, so I don't run into one myself?"
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?"Oh righ. These have a rectangular shape and it has the words Front towards enemy. Some sort of tripwire to get the mine to detonate would be present, usually it's across the floor."
The Doctor flinches. "Wow... um... Why isn't the mage back yet?"
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyRaz stared at the bloody spot on the floor where Red Mage had once stood. "God dammit, Mason. Just... God Dammit."
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablySKULL!
Suddenly, the Skull Magnum is pointed to Mason. " No man left behind, huh? Well, you left one in a pile of blood." Narumi said.
"Has this problem happened before?" Michael asked Doctor. "And don't worry about them." The G4 trainer pointed to the Doctor Durant and the Black Stig sleeping in the nearby sofa.
Gordon had already entered the next room. "No... No no no no no...."
Displayed on several screens, was the charging of a superportal. The superportal. The one that would take the Combine to earth. Only twenty percent remained in the portal's charging sequence. "I... I can't wait for everyone... There's no time..."
Briefly, Gordon called to the others. "Everyone cover me!"
And with that, he was off. As he vanished from sight, sprinting towards the convection hallway, a wave of explosions came from Mason's traps as the Combine forces punched through. They were coming in the thousands.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Shit! From the back! Cover Gordon!"
Spriggan crouched down, took aim at the incoming Combine aliens via EOTech sight and let loose with his G36K, set at full auto.
Kimimaro started firing bone bullets as fast as he could generate them, aiming for heads (on those that had them) and other vital spots (on those that didn't).

"He can take care of things in there, but we can NOT let anything through! We hold the line and we hold it here!"
Easing back into life one step at a timeYuuka simply fired precise, streamed triple-lined energy bolts at the oncoming horde from the open parasol, shooting individual Combine until they exploded and moving onto the next.
"All of them, synthetic?...Disappointing." she said, lamenting the Combine's lack of external organics.
"I'll die before I let any of them breach this spot!"
Spriggan shouted, reloading his G36K before he fired it again towards Combine synths.
—Saren had remained silent for much of the time following the Vorts, only now speaking as he opened a singularity in the enemy ranks.—
Internal lubricant not good enough?
Rey scowled, sending bolts of shadowstuff at any synths that came too near and kicking away whatever remained after the organic components were destroyed.
Easing back into life one step at a timeShe chuckled and continued to fire.
Craft also followed, his weapon ready to be used if necessary.
