A Game of Gods: A Multiversal Challenge

Kirby's hammer knocked one hammerhead senseless and quite possibly smashed its cartilaginous skull in; in any case, the shark drifted off, insensate. Another hammerhead swam up to the small star warrior and tried to take a bite, only missing him by a fraction of an inch. It did brush up against Kirby, however, and the hammerhead's abrasive skin scratched the star warrior, drawing blood.

Other sharks picked up the scent, and began to converge on Kirby...

The hammerhead shot by Gordon drifts away, blood billowing from its injured side.

Craft was firing at the hammerheads whenever they threatened the group.

"No-one will get eaten on my watch."

Hahli had been seperated from the rest of the group and lost in the caves; she now rejoined the group.

-Eddie hacked at any sharks that came near him-

"Come on, how many of these guys are there?"

All of a sudden, Jorge swooped in to grab Kirby, speeding away from the sharks with the pink puffball in hand.

Hahli, seeing the sharks, growled in anger; a low, guttural sound that seemed to directly contrast her normally happy and peaceful nature. She tried to blind them with her searchlight, while at the same time releasing a powerful volley of Cordak missiles and water currents.

Gordon stowed his crossbow and pulled out his pulse rifle, ready to take on the sharks with a more rapid fire weapon.

He thought he felt something in the waters behind him, and turned, to see a hammerhead with its maw wide open, charging straight for him. Gordon swung his left arm up in a moment of panic, and the shark's jaws clamped down on the H.E.V suit's armor.

It didn't cause any immediate harm, but the suit's charge took a hit, and Gordon felt the armor start to weaken.

So he swung his pulse rifle up, one-handed, to point at the shark's head, and held down the trigger in a bid to kill the shark and make it release him.

Ergh... Kirby scowled as the rough skin cut his tender flesh. As Jorge pulled him away, the Star Warrior's scowl grew more vicious.

I'm gonna show you how stwong I am! Struggling out of the Spartan's grip, Kirby began sucking up a vast amount of water and a shark as well.

As he did, the puffball glowed shortly before reappearing with grey-blue skin, a shark tail and a hammerhead... Head...

Hammerhead Kirby! The Star Warrior grinned maliciously at the sharks, showcasing new razor sharp teeth. Even the mental sound of Kirby's thoughts sounded bloodthirsty and vicious.

Narumi spotted a chubby hammerhead shark (Hammerhead Kirby) near Jorge. Jorge! Watch out! Narumi said as he fires a shot at the chubby Hammerhead.

Jorge halted when Kirby wriggled out of his grasp.

What?! No! You can't-

Kirby then proceeded to eat the shark. Jorge's jaw promptly dropped as he stared in shock and horror.

Ravage noted that the water was starting to get colder, and the sharks seemed to become progressively more lethargic as a result. Eventually some of the sharks began to peel off from the school and swim back south, until only a handful of hammerheads remained to doggedly pursue the champions.

RAAARGH!! roared Kirby as the shot hit him, but was stopped by his thick skin. You die! He charged at the Asian man, his new form giving him a great deal of speed in the water.

Craft blinked twice at the small puffball's display of its' abilities, but decided to ignore the incident.

As the shark drifted away, trailing blood, Gordon broke free and turned to see shark Kirby.

What.

Kirby, STOP!

The Spartan zoomed up behind Kirby and grabbed him, trying to keep him away from Narumi. Jorge's grip was tight, and the star warrior would find it incredibly hard to break free.

He's not the enemy. Stop it now!

Kirby hissed at the Spartan, but managed to regain control from his initial instincts.

Instead of lunging at his shooter, he settled from an unsettling snarl.

What happened to you?

-Saren lazily takes aim at Cacharby with his pistol-

Kirby turned to Jorge, his eyes still fierce but no longer filled with bloodlust. I can copy other beingsss' powerssss by consssuming them. Of courssse, it won't always caussse them to ssstop existing... His eyes flashed with a bizarre look. Only when I'm lucky... The not-quite-so-cute puffball shook his head, almost hitting Jorge with his extra headpiece.

Itsss my greatessst power. I can even remember the powersss later, but they aren't asss good as when I get them firssst... Thisss lisssp isss getting annoying isssn't it?

...Yes.

Jorge let him go.

That's... pretty unsettling.''

-The Turian stops, then begins to shoot the sharks-

Who'd have thought an adorable pink puffball could be so f*cking creepy?

The pink puffball eats people to gain their powers. That's not creepy, Gordon mused, attempting to not broadcast that thought.

He noted the sharks were starting to thin out, and the water was starting to get colder.

Wait... we're going up north. As in, cold, freezing up north. We're not all equipped for water that cold.

The remaining sharks decided that the effort they've put into this chase compared to how little food they had managed to get thus far simply was not worth it. The few remaining sharks peeled away and began to head back south, the healthier ones trailing hungrily after the weak and injured.

It was fortunate that they did, for now the water had become incredibly cold; Ecco chittered constantly in an effort to keep warm, and even Ravage was inconvenience, discovering to his annoyance that when he surfaced to prevent his rust from spreading, the moisture on his organic components rapidly froze.

SO THIS IS THE NORTH...IT REALLY IS VERY COLD, IS IT NOT?

That's an understatement. The waters here drop below zero degress celsius, thirty-two degrees fahrenheit. We need to get this done fast, thought Gordon, shuddering in the cold. It was times like this he wished his suit had a built-in heater.
